GAMBIA: SECOND PROTOCOL TO ICCPR RATIFIED
October 3, 2018: Gambia has ratified the Second Optional Protocol to the ICCPR, aiming at the abolition of the death penalty, on 28 September 2018, during the UN Treaty Event in New York, together with the ICCPR and the Convention Against Torture. They had signed it a year ago. Gambia still has to fully abolish the death penalty in its Criminal Code. (Sources: worldcoalition.org, 02/10/2018)
