YEMEN: HOUTHI COURT HANDS DOWN DEATH SENTENCES TO TWO YEMENIS FOR ESPIONAGE
October 10, 2018: A Houthi court in Sanaa on 9 October 2018 handed down death sentences to two Yemenis on charges including espionage for Saudi Arabia and a Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen, forming an armed gang and fighting alongside anti-Houthi forces. Hani Al-Ariki, one of the sentenced persons, was also charged with fighting alongside ISIS and mercenaries in the provinces of Aden and Bayda and forging and using a national ID to pass at checkpoints, according to a statement published by Houthi-run Saba news agency.
