SOMALIA: PUNTLAND MARTIAL COURT EXECUTES A SOLDIER CONVICTED OF MURDER
May 31, 2020: Puntland Martial Court on 28 May 2020 oversaw the execution of Ahmed Adan Mohammed, who was found guilty of intentionally killing Hassan Shire Amaan, the former commander in charge of Bosaso Airport security. The convicted soldier was in jail for almost a year. Ahmed Adan Mohammed killed Hassan Shire Amaan on 7 December 2015 and fled the scene. He had been at large for three years when Puntland security forces apprehended him last year. The family of the slain commander of Bosaso Airport security witnessed the execution. Puntland Martial Court has instructed Puntland State Government to give sixty seven heads of camels to the family of the executed soldier who sustained injuries while being pursued and taken into custody.
