His identity has been established as Saeed Bolouri, a Lorestan native who had been sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder. An informed source told IHR: “Saeed Bolouri has been in detention since 2016 for the murder of his landlord. The dispute was over the 80million Toman security deposit that the landlord had to return to Saeed, but 3 months after moving out, his deposit wasn’t returned to him and ultimately, the dispute led to an argument and the murder of the landlord with a knife.” "Saeed's family was willing to pay for the diyya (blood money), but the victim's family would not consent and demanded retribution," the source added. At the time of publication, the execution of Saeed Bolouri has not been announced by domestic media or officials in Iran.
