IRAN - 3 men executed in Shiraz on September 16

Abdoljalil Ehsani, Yahya Zargari, Mehdi Jahanpour.
Three men including two Baluch minorities were executed in Shiraz Central Prison on 16 September 2024. The identities of the two Baluch men who were also sentenced to death for drug-related charges have been established as 33-year-old Abdoljalil Ehsani and 32-year-old Yahya Zargari from Iranshahr.
The third man who was sentenced for murder, has been identified as 32-year-old Mehdi Jahanpour. He was executed secretly, without his family being notified and the chance to say goodbye.
A source told IHR: “Mehdi Jahanpour was accused of killing someone with a knife in Firouz Abad. Mehdi was in love with a girl who had another man pursuing her. He stopped Mehdi in the street and a fight broke out which ended with the other man being killed.”
At the time of writing, their executions have not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.
