Keyvan Mamadi, Najib Azarm, Babak Omarzadeh, Houshang Hanareh, and Tawfiq Ne’mati
Iranian authorities have executed at least five Kurdish prisoners from Urmia in secrecy at Tabriz Central Prison. The men were identified as Keyvan Mamadi, Najib Azarm, Babak Omarzadeh, Houshang Hanareh, and Tawfiq Ne’mati. The executions were carried out without granting them a final meeting with their families. All had been convicted on drug-related charges.
According to information obtained by Hengaw, the executions took place at dawn on September 7, 2025. Keyvan Mamadi was from Drik village in Salmas. Najib Azarm was from Kalan Kani village in the Tergawar district of Urmia. Tawfiq Ne’mati was from Bardizi village in the Somay–Bradost district of Urmia. Houshang Hanareh was from Khalian village in the same district. Babak Omarzadeh was also from the Somay–Bradost area.
State media have not published any information about the executions.
