ITALIAN GOVERNMENT MUST GO AHEAD WITH MORATORIUM INITIATIVE, BONINO
January 8, 2007: "Pannella’s initiative, taken on by the government and by [Foreign] Minister D’Alema, must find a way to carry on,” said Emma Bonino, Italian Minister for European Policies and International Trade, commenting on the initiative for a universal moratorium on capital executions.
“Next week I will be going to New York, with some UN contacts, and then onto Washington. In particular I will be meeting the Bahraini President of the United Nations General Assembly which will be another occasion to express myself on this matter currently under worldwide attention.” (Sources: AGI, 08/01/2007)
