IRAQ: TWO MAHDI ARMY FIGHTERS SENTENCED TO DEATH
May 18, 2009: an Iraqi provincial court sentenced two members of Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr's Mahdi army to death for killing a prominent tribal chief's son, a judicial official said.
The court in Amara convicted Ahmed Jabbar Khalaf and Haider Abdel Sadeq of the murder of Ali Kadhim Moshatat, son of Kadhim Moshatat.
