EU AND RIGHTS ACTIVISTS CONDEMN THAI EXECUTIONS
August 27, 2009: the European Union and human rights activists condemned the execution of two men convicted of drug trafficking in Thailand.
The EU ādeplores the executions of Bundit Charoenwanich, 45, and Jirawat Phumpruek, 52, by lethal injection in Bangkokās Bangkwang Prison.ā The deaths āmark the end of a near six year-long de facto moratorium on the use of the death penalty in Thailand.ā
