PAKISTAN: DEATH PENALTY AWARDED FOR MURDER
August 30, 2009: in Kasur, Pakistan, Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Ajmal Hussain awarded the death sentence and a Rs 50,000 fine to Khadim Hussain.
Four others were acquitted and one co-accused was sentenced to life imprisonment. According to the prosecution, the convicts killed Muhammad Anwar over an agricultural land dispute. (Sources: Daily The Post, 30/08/09)
