IRAN: CONVICTED RAPIST HANGED

November 25, 2009: An Iranian man convicted of rape was hanged in a prison in the city of Karaj on the western outskirts of Tehran, the ISNA news agency reported.
The report said Mohammad Orouji, 25, had also been convicted of consuming alcohol.
The sentence included 80 lashes, but the report did not say whether Orouji was whipped before his execution. (Sources: Afp, 25/11/2009)
