GHANA: MAN TO BE HANGED FOR MURDER
June 9, 2010: Justice Essel Mensah of the Ho High Court in Ghana sentenced Emmanuel Adzanku, 40, a palm wine tapper from Matse Tsipe, to death by hanging for murdering William Addo, also of Matse Tsipe, with a machete on April 21, 2003. A Ghana News Agency report said the trial lasted seven years. Addo discovered that Adzanku was diverting some of the palm wine to his (Adzanku's) sister to sell and a dispute broke out.
