UNITED ARAB EMIRATES: 3 BROTHERS HAVE DEATH SENTENCES QUASHED
April 26, 2011: a judge in Ajman, the United Arab Emirates, ordered the release of three brothers who were sentenced to death for killing their married sister's Pakistani boyfriend 10 years ago after the victim's family waived their blood rights.
The sister, H, was married to a 70-year-old man. The brothers, then in their 20s and bidoon (stateless), tied the victim up, beat him for hours and left him to die. (Sources: The National, 27/04/2011)
