IRAN: SIX PEOPLE EXECUTED FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING
May 26, 2011: Six people were hanged in Yasouj and Sari, Iran.
Four people were executed in Yasouj prison (western Iran) early in the morning, reported the state-run Iranian news agency IRNA. They were convicted of drug-related offences. None of the executed people were identified by name.
The Aftab news agency reported that two other people were hanged in Sari prison (northern Iran) in the morning. They were convicted of drug trafficking and were not identified by name. (Sources: Iran Human rights, 26/05/2011)
