AFGHANISTAN: 3 MURDERERS SENTENCED TO DEATH IN HERAT
December 4, 2012: In Afghanistan, the Appellant Court of western Herat province awarded death sentence to three convicts in the province, officials said.
Prosecutor Gul Ahmad Ramish said three men were convicted on charges of a murder cases.
So far the Appellant Court in the province has awarded death sentences to 75 people, 53 of them were punished for criminal cases such as murder, while 22 people were given death penalty for involving in disruptive activities.
The commissioner of the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission in the province, Abdul Qadar Rahim, said they supported the death penalty according to the laws of the country and the standards of human rights.
