MALAYSIA: NIGERIAN MAN GETS THE GALLOWS FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING
December 9, 2012: A Nigerian car spare parts salesman was sentenced to death by the High Court in Malaysia for trafficking in drugs.
Judge Datuk Abdul Rahman Sebli sentenced Emeka Promise, 44, after finding him guilty of trafficking in 1,117gm of methamphetamine at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport's arrival hall at 4.30pm on Nov 18 last year.
Rahman said he was satisfied the prosecution had proven the case beyond reasonable doubt.
He added that he rejected Promise's claim that he knew nothing about the drugs. DPP Fuad Aziz prosecuted while counsel Ramkarpal Singh represented the accused. (Sources: nst.com.my, 10/12/2012)
