MALAYSIA: INDONESIAN WOMAN TO HANG FOR TRAFFICKING IN DRUGS
January 9, 2013: An Indonesian woman was sentenced to death by the Shah Alam High Court in Malaysia for trafficking in 1,903gm of heroin and monoacetylmorphines.
Judge Datuk Rahim Uda sentenced Angelica Bennet, 28, from Jakarta, after finding her guilty of trafficking in the drugs at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport arrival hall at 8am on Sept 14, 2009.
A total of seven witnesses testified in the trial. DPP Mohd Nordin Ismail prosecuted while counsel Jayaprakash Rao represented Bennet. (Sources: nst.com.my, 09/01/2013)
