IRAN: TWELVE PRISONERS EXECUTED AT THE END OF THE YEAR
December 31, 2014: twelve prisoners were executed in four different cities.
On 28 December, a prisoner, who was identified as Abdulaziz Shahli, was executed for murder at the courtyard of the Central Prison of Zahedan, reported the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA).
On 29 December, seven unidentified inmates were executed for drug trafficking in the prison of Orumieh, Kurdpa agency reported.
On 30 December, a prisoner convicted of drug related crimes and two others charged with armed robbery were executed in the yard of the Adelabad prison in Shiraz, HRANA reported.
On 31 December, a 30-year-old prisoner, from Ghochan in Khorasan Razavi province, was executed in the yard of the Central Prison of Noshahr, HRANA reported. He was charged with murder 4 years before for stabbing one of his relatives to death in a village near Noshahr during a dispute. In 2014, as of 30 December, according to Iran Human Rights Documentation Center (IHRDC), the Islamic Republic of Iran carried out at least 707 executions, 242 of them reported by official Iranian sources.
