PAKISTAN: 6 TERRORISTS AWARDED CAPITAL PUNISHMENT IN MILITARY COURT
April 2, 2015: Six convicted terrorists, who were tried at a Military Court established under National Action Plan (NAP), are sentenced to death, Capital TV reported.
According to the Director General of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa, this was for the the first time that a military court tried and awarded death sentence to terrorists since the establishment of NAP. Seven terrorists were tried in the military court wherein six were handed down death sentence while one was sentenced for life, said the Director General ISPR.
Bajwa tweeted that Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has also confirmed the capital punishment awarded to the six terrorists. He added that the convicts can use their right to appeal against the decision of military court.
