PAKISTAN: NINE MORE DEATH ROW PRISONERS HANGED IN VARIOUS CITIES

June 16, 2015: another nine murder convicts were hanged in different cities of Punjab, raising the total number of executions to at least 171 since Pakistan reversed the self-imposed moratorium on the death penalty in December 2014 after the Taliban school massacre.
Ashraf Mano was executed in Gujranwala's Central Jail. He was found guilty of raping and murdering a 12-year-old girl in 1999.
A former traffic head constable, Abdur Rauf, was executed at the District Jail in Jehlum. He had murdered Muhammad Ilyas in 1996 over an old enmity.
In Sialkot’s District Jail, Basharat was sent to the gallows for killing a man in 1997.
Two more prisoners were executed in Faisalabad’s Central Jail. Younis had killed three people including two women in 2000 over a family feud, while Allah Ditta had killing a woman in 1999.
In Lahore's Kot Lakhpat Jail, Mukhtar was hanged for killing a man in 2004. 
In Dera Ghazi Khan's Central Jail, Ali Asghar was put to the gallows. He had killed his nephew in 2000 over a domestic dispute.
Two death row convicts also met their fate at Bahawalpur's Central Jail. Ghulam Rasool had killed three people including a woman in 1999, while Muhammed Asghar took life of a man during a robbery in 2002.
Meantime, the executions of four death row inmates were stayed in various jails. Mohammad Saeed, who was slated to be hanged at Gujranwala's Central Jail, got reprieve hours before his hanging since he was pardoned by the relatives of three people murdered in 1990. In Faisalabad’s Central Jail, Zulfiqar Ali, who took life of Safia Bibi, was spared his life after a reconciliation deal was reached between the litigants. In Lahore's Kot Lakhpat Jail, Khizar Hayat's execution was put on hold at the LHC's stay order. He took life of a man in Shad Bagh in 2001.
