IRAN: FIVE PRISONERS HANGED IN KARAJ, YAZD
January 18, 2016: Five prisoners were hanged in Iran on January 12 and 14.
According to the human rights group HRANA, four prisoners were hanged on January 12 at Karaj's central prison (northern Iran) on drug charges. The prisoners have been identified as Seyed Hamid Hajian, Hossein Toutiannoush, Mostafa Jamshidi, and Mohsen Nasiri.
On January 14, Iran state run media, Ashkezar News, reported on the execution of one prisoner in the morning at Yazd's central prison (central Iran). According to the report, the prisoner, identified as "A.B.", was a Wahhabi. (Source: Iran Human Rights, January 14, 2016)
