PAKISTAN: GENERAL SHARIF SIGNS DEATH WARRANTS OF TEN TERRORISTS
October 13, 2016: Chief of the Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif signed death warrants of ten terrorists who were tried by military courts.
Inter-Services Public Relations reported that the terrorists that are now to be hanged were convicted in different cases over attacks on polio workers, Non-Government Organisations (NGO) and civilians.
Muhammad Shahid S/O Zaman Khan had killed two women polio workers and 11 persons associated with an NGO. Hussain, another terrorist had martyred Major Mustafa and Captain Waseem among several security personnel.
Another convict, Anwar Zaib slit throat of a police sub-inspector named Umar and fatally attacked many personnel of Frontier Corps (FC), the ISPR reported.
Ubaid, belonging to banned Tehrik-i-Taliban is to be hanged for killing innocent civilians while Ataullah, Mushtaq and Asghar, TTP’s Sher Alam and Shamas killed security personnel in different attacks. (Sources: Dunya News, 13/10/2016)
