GAZA: PALESTINIAN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR 2011 MURDER
October 16, 2016: A court in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip has sentenced a man to death and his female accomplice to 10 years in prison after finding them guilty of premeditated murder.
Public prosecutor in the Gaza Strip Ismail Jaber said in a statement on October 10 that the sentence came after the prosecution had presented all necessary evidence to convict âM.H.â and his accomplice âB.S.â for the premeditated murder of Jaber Nimr Hamdan in 2011.
Hamdan was killed in September 2011, after B.S. allegedly put sleeping pills into his drink and M.H. struck him down using an iron object, causing his immediate death.
It was third reported instance that Gaza courts handed down a death sentence since the beginning of October. (Sources: Maâan, 16/10/2016)
