IRAQ: THREE TERRORISTS SENTENCED TO DEATH, LIFE OVER KILLING CIVILIANS IN ANBAR
October 11, 2018: The Criminal Court in Dhi Qar has sentenced a terrorist to death and two others to life in prison over carrying out several crimes in Anbar province, iraqinews reported on 10 October 2018. In a statement issued on 10 October, Abdul Sattar al-Bayraqdar, spokesperson for the High Judiciary Council, said “Dhi Qar Criminal Court reviewed lawsuits of three convicts, one of whom took part in booby-trapping a vehicle in Ramadi city, which left nine people killed. The militant was sentenced to death.” The life sentences, according to the statement, “were given to two terrorists over joining a militant group and taking part in entering a booby-trapped vehicle into Ramadi.
