YEMEN: HOUTHI-CONTROLLED COURT SENTENCES 4 TO DEATH FOR ALLEGEDLY SPYING FOR SAUDI ARABIA
December 18, 2019: A Houthi rebel-controlled court in Yemen's capital Sanaa on 16 December 2019 sentenced four men to death for allegedly spying for Saudi Arabia, the Houthi-run al-Masirah TV reported. The defendants, all Yemenis, went on trial in April in Sanaa, the television said, giving no further details. There was no immediate comment from Saudi Arabia, which has been leading an Arab military coalition in fighting the Iran-allied Houthi rebels in Yemen since March 2015 in support of the exiled Yemeni government.
