BELARUS: MAN EXECUTED FOR THE MURDER OF TWO WOMEN
December 24, 2019: Alexandre Ossipovitch, 37, a citizen for the town of Bobrouïsk, was executed in Belarus on 17 December 2019, the newspaper Kamertsyïny Kourier stated, quoting the regional prosecutor Olga Ivanova. According to Viasna center, in 2018 Ossipovitch got to learn two ladies in a bar and welcomed them to his house. After a disagreement, he inflicted 77 knife wounds to one girl and 16 injuries on the other, before dismembering and hoping to get free of his victims. He had been later on arrested by authorities. During his trial, Alexandre Ossipovitch attempted many times for assaults on other individuals, stated that these women wanted to rob his apartment and therefore he acted in defence. This execution is condemned by the Council of Europe. "We call on Belarus to abolish the death penalty or at least introduce a moratorium.
