MALI. GOVERNMENT ABOLISHES THE DEATH PENALTY
October 18, 2007: the Mali government announced it adopted a bill for the abolition of the death penalty. In a statement issued at the end of a cabinet meeting, the Government said under the bill, the death penalty will be replaced with life imprisonment. (Sources: Agence France Presse, 18/10/2007)
