IRAN: EIGHT PEOPLE HANGED
January 3, 2011: eight people were hanged in two different towns in Iran. According to several Iranian news agencies seven people were hanged in the prison of Kermanshah early in the morning.
The reports that were quoting Mojtaba Maleki, the prosecutor general of Kermanshah, wrote that all the seven executed were convicted of drug related offences. None of those executed in Kermanshah were identified by name. According to the news website Zahedan press, one man was hanged in the prison of Zahedan early in the morning. The man was identified as Bahman Rigi, convicted of shooting and killing four others in 2008, said the report that was quoting the press office of the judiciary in Zahedan.
