SUDAN: TWO WOMEN HANGED FOR STONING CHILD
May 13, 2011: federal prison authorities in Sudan executed two young women by hanging for killing a child by stoning in the Al-Azhari area of Khartoum. The women allegedly lured the child in the Mayo neighbourhood to a building in Al-Azhari where they stoned him to death, in revenge over a dispute with the child's mother. They were sentenced to death by the Hay al-Nasr criminal court under article 130 of the penal code. (Sources: BBC, 13/05/2011)
