SAUDI ARABIA: 10 BEHEADED IN ONE DAY
October 7, 2011: Saudi Arabia executed eight Bangladeshi nationals and two Saudis for murder, the state news agency reported.
Bangladeshi nationals Mamoun Abdulmenan, Farouk Jamal, Suman Meah, Mohammed Suman, Shafiq al-Islam, Masoud Shamsulhaq, Abu Hussein Ahmed and Muteer al-Rahman were executed in the capital Riyadh for their part in an armed robbery in which a security guard was killed.
The men were convicted of robbing a warehouse and killing the security guard, Hussein Saeed Mohammed Abdulkhaleq, an Egyptian national.
Meanwhile, two Saudis, convicted killers on death row, were executed in Tabuk.
Farhan bin Awad Al-Atwi, was convicted for stabbing to death two Saudi brothers Hamoud bin Eid Al-Atwi and Saud bin Eid Al-Atwi, following a dispute.
Ahmad bin Awdah Al-Atwi was convicted of shooting to death Muhammad Tahir Khan, an Afghan national, during a dispute, the Saudi Press Agency reported. (Sources: Arab News, 07/10/2011; Reuters, 08/10/2011)
