IRAQ: TUNISIAN FACES EXECUTION

November 3, 2011: Yosri Triki, a young Tunisian student who is set to be executed in Iraq by the end of the week. Lawyer Rachid Mefli confirmed that Yosri was captured by Iraqi police on May 5th, 2006, and under conditions of torture, confessed to being involved in the bombing of Marqad al Imamayn Houssin and Hedi Askari. On Al Karama’s website it states that he was sentenced to death on October 10, 2010, when a judge explicitly threatened him with death unless he agreed to confess.
