SINGAPORE: CONVICTED MURDERER, WHO STABBED VICTIM MORE THAN 110 TIMES, EXECUTED
April 17, 2015: A 39-year-old male Singaporean was executed at Changi Prison Complex, after being convicted of murder and sentenced to death on Apr 7, 2009, police said in a media release.Â
Muhammad bin Kadar stabbed a 69-year-old woman to death in her flat while robbing her on May 6, 2005. She was stabbed more than 110 times, according to police.Â
Police added Muhammad bin Kadar was represented by counsel throughout the legal process, and that the Court of Appeal had dismissed his appeal on July 5, 2011. The Court of Appeal dismissed his application for re-sentencing under the new death penalty regime on Sep 29, 2014, after hearing further arguments.Â
He was given the opportunity to petition the President for Clemency, which was turned down, police said. (Sources: CNA/dl, 17/04/2015)
