IRAN: TWENTY PRISONERS EXECUTED FOR DRUG RELATED CHARGES
April 21, 2015: Twenty prisoners were hanged for drug related charges between 16 and 20 April in three different Iranian cities.
Twelve of them were hanged in Mashhad on 16 April and four others in Birjand on 17 April, reported the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA).
On 20 April, another four death row inmates were executed at the Orumieh Prison, reported the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN). They were identified as Loqman Moeziri, Ali Jalili, Bahr Ali Yahyazadeh and Behnam Ahmadi.
The families of these men gathered in front of Orumieh prison the day before, after learning of the news their sons were at risk of imminent execution.
