CHINA. FOUR EXECUTED FOR KILLING, ROBBERY
June 9, 2006: four young Chinese men were executed in the capital Beijing for robbery and murder.
Yan Shusen, Wang Jianzhong, Zhao Qian and Sun Shizhong -- all peasants in their early 20s -- were executed for robbing a van driver before killing him in 2004. The gang also kidnapped two female students in the northern province of Hebei and extorted a total of 70,000 yuan (8,750 dollars) from their relatives, the Beijing Evening News reported.
