EGYPT: FOUR JORDANIANS SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR DRUGS
November 12, 2009: a court in El-Tor, Egypt, sentenced four Jordanians to death for trying to smuggle hashish. The verdict has to be ratified by Egyptâs top cleric.
Three of the accused were sentenced in absentia. The man was arrested in January 2009 by security officials in Egyptâs Red Sea port of Nuweiba in a truck which allegedly contained 173 kgs of hashish concealed in the tyres.
