BAHRAIN: DEATH PENALTY FOR MURDERER
June 25, 2014: A Bahraini was sentenced to death for the vicious murder of a 20-year-old fugitive who allegedly posed as a woman looking for a date.
Hussain Ebrahim Hussain died after being shot twice, repeatedly stabbed with a screwdriver, beaten with a metal bar and a wrench and hit with stones.
His 40-year-old killer Sayed Haitham Adnan Qahiri was found guilty of premeditated murder and possessing and smuggling an unlicensed firearm by the High Criminal Court.
Mr Hussain was killed in the early hours of October 19 at Malkiya beach after allegedly challenging Mr Qahiri to a gang fight.
The latter claimed he confronted Mr Hussain for tricking him into thinking he was a woman, by setting up a fake account on the Tango mobile application. (Sources: gulf-daily-news.com, 26/06/2014)
