THREE EXECUTED IN IRAN’S NORTHWESTERN PROVINCE – WEBSITE
March 10, 2009: Hamed Mohammadzadeh, a prisoner from Miandoab in Iran’s West Azarbayjan Province, was hanged at the central prison of Orumiyyeh, the capital of that province, on a murder charge, according to the website of Human Rights Activists in Iran [HRAI]. Mohammadzadeh spent several years in captivity before his execution. Mehdi Qasemzadeh, a follower of the Ahl-e Haqq faith (the majority of whom are Kurds) and Azizvand, who were incarcerated in the same prison on charges of murdering three Law Enforcement Force members, were also executed in the past few days.
