IRAN: SIX EXECUTED FOR MURDER, DRUG TRAFFICKING
May 13, 2009: six men have been recently hanged in Iran for murder and drug trafficking, local media reported.
A convicted murderer was hanged in a prison in the northern city of Qazvin, the Etemad newspaper reported. The man identified only as Abbas B., 38, was executed for killing a parking lot caretaker two years ago, the report said, without specifying when the hanging took place.
Two prisoners identified as Mohsen Sadeghi, 35, and Reza Choupani, 40, were hanged on May 12 at Isfahanâs central prison for drug trafficking, "Human rights and democracy actvists in Iran" web site reported.
On May 11, two men, identified as "Mohammad Mehdi" and "Reza Gholi" and convicted of drug trafficking were hanged in the central prison of Zahedan, in south-eastern Iran, Etemad reported.
