IRAN: MAN HANGED IN PRISON WEST OF TEHRAN
March 7, 2010: One man was hanged in the prison of Rajaee Shahr (west of Tehran) last week. According to the Iranian human rights news agency HRANA, the man was identified as Mehdi Esmaeili (26), convicted of a murder when he was 19 years old.
Esmaili had been arrested for murder at the age of 19 and spent seven years in Ward 5 of Rajaiee Shahr prison before being executed last week.
The news has not been broadcasted by the Iranian authorities.
