IRAN: ONE MAN HANGED IN PUBLIC
March 10, 2010: One man was hanged in public in the southwest Iranian city of Ahvaz, reported the official Iranian news agency IRNA.
The man who was identified as "S. M." was convicted of drug trafficking and was hanged in the "Ramedan Alley" (kooye Ramezan) of Ahvaz said the report.
Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, the spokesperson of Iran Human Rights condemned the public hangings and said:"By public hangings the Iranian regime wants to spread fear among the people in hope of preventing new uprisings on March 15".
