PAKISTAN: TWO SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR KILLING FIVE BROTHERS
March 31, 2016: Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Ghulam Mustafa Memon sentenced to death two government employees who murdered five brothers in Hussainabad police precincts in the Hyderabad District.
The convicts were identified as Qurban Ali Kalhoro and Qudratullah, aka Aijaz Shaikh.
The judge also imposed Rs500,000 fine each on the convicts. In case of their failure to pay the fine, they would face three extra years of rigorous imprisonment.
The judge sentenced them to five-year imprisonment each and Rs300,000 fine each for using a 30-bore pistol in the offence, under section 25 the Sindh Arms Act 2013.
According to the prosecution, Kalhoro, Qudratullah, Murad Ali, Rafique Abbasi, Muhammad Urs, Hayat Abbasi, Qamar Abbasi, Sajid Abbasi, Agha Waseemuddin Pathan and two unknown men shot dead five brothers Wali Muhammad, Muhammad Asif, Bilawal, Ghulam Murtaza and Zulfikar at the Karachi Bus Stop in the Hussainabad area in the Hyderabad District on June 7, 2013.
An FIR was lodged with Hussainabad police on the complaint of Usman Solangi, father of the victims. (Sources: dailytimes.com.pk, 01/04/2016)
