BANGLADESH: 3 SIBLINGS TO WALK GALLOWS FOR KILLING BCL MAN IN BOGRA
March 31, 2016: A Bogra court sentenced three brothers to death and three people, including two siblings, to life imprisonment for killing a Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activist in the district town in 2009.
The condemned convicts are Rony Mondal, Masum Parvez Masum and Masud Parvez Munna, sons of Abdul Mazid, while the lifers are Jahangir and Khokon, sons of Ramjan Ali, and Abdul Mazid, son of Ajgar Ali. All of them are residents of Nataipara of the town, UNB reports.
Of the convicts, Masum, Khokon and Mazid were tried in absentia.
According to the prosecution, BCL man Faruk Hossain Sabuj was stabbed to death during a clash over establishing supremacy in Nataipara area on January 5, 2009.
Victimâs father filed a case with Sadar Police Station accusing six people.
After examining the evidence and witnesses, judge of the Additional Sessionâs Judge Court-3 Hafizur Rahman handed down the verdict. (Sources: daily-sun.com, 31/04/2016)
