Davoud (Davood) Yousefi and Ebrahim Ajali (Ajalli) executed in Karaj on December 28.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, two men were executed in Karaj Penitentiary on December 28. Their identities have been established as 42-year-old Davoud Yousefi and 33-year-old Ebrahim Ajali.
A source told Iran Human Rights: “Yousefi and Ajali were arrested around four years ago for drug crimes, and were transferred for execution from Ward 4 of the prison.”
At the time of writing, neither of their executions have been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

A prisoner with an unknown identity was executed in Karaj Central Prison on December 28.
The news, so scarce, is reported by Hrana and the Iranian Human Rights Society. Davoud Yousefi and Ebrahim Ajali were also hanged in the same prison that day (see HoC on that date).

Hamidreza Nejati and Mohsen Nejati, an uncle and nephew sentenced for murder in the same case, were executed in Rajai Shahr Prison.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, two men were executed in Rajai Shahr Prison on December 28. Their identities have been established as Hamidreza Nejati (pictured) and Mohsen Nejati who were sentenced to qisas for murder in the same case.
A source told Iran Human Rights: “Mohsen Nejati was Hamidreza’s uncle and they had been sentenced for a murder in the same case.”
They were transferred for execution from Hall 1, Ward 1 of the prison.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was executed in Kashan Central Prison on November 26. His identity has been established as Keyhan Shakerpanahi but the charges leading to his execution have not been determined. A source told Iran Human Rights: “Keyhan Shakerpanahi was transferred to Kashan from Isfahan Prison a few days prior to his execution.”

Elias Raisi and Ayoub Rigi executed in Zahedan prison on December 24
The two Baloch prisoners were on charges of murder.
Rigi, 37 years old, was the son of Dad Mohammad, married, and living in Zahedan. Raisi, 28 years old, the son of Ayar, and living in Jalek, Saravan.
According to this report, Ayoub was arrested in 2019 on charges of murder on the way from Zahedan to Kerman. He was sentenced to death by the Zahedan Criminal Court.
Raisi was arrested in 2020 on charges of murder and sentenced to death by the Zahedan Criminal Court.
Ayoub and Elias have been in solitary confinement in Zahedan prison for a week since December 16, waiting and anxious for the execution of the death sentence.

Nizamuddin Burhanzahi executed in Iranshahr on December 23
According to Haalvsh, at dawn on December 23, 2022, a Baloch prisoner was executed in Iranshahr. This prisoner’s name was Nizamuddin Burhanzahi and he was sentenced to death on charges of murder.
Burhanzahi, 38 years old, was the son of Mohammad Mirin from Sourap village, Iranshahr.
In this report, quoting an informed source, it is stated: “In 2013, Nizamuddin was arrested on the charge of murder in the city of Kalat Sarbaz and was sentenced to death by the Iranshahr Criminal Court.”

3 unidentified men executed in Shiraz on December 22.
According to IRNA this morning, Thursday, December 22, 2022, 3 prisoners who were previously sentenced to death for “rape” were executed in Adel Abad prison in Shiraz.
The Chief Justice of Fars Province announced in this regard. “Perpetrators of assault and rape against women in Drak Park, Sadra Road and Akbarabad Shiraz were identified and arrested in September of last year. The preliminary verdict and death sentence of these three people was issued after the trial in July of this year in the first branch of the criminal court of a province of Fars. “This case was reviewed and confirmed in the Supreme Court after the protest of the convicts.” In this report, the identity of these people is not mentioned.

Abdullah Shahozahi executed in Shiraz on December 21
According to Balochistan media, early Wednesday, December 21, 2022, the death sentence of a Baloch prisoner named Abdullah Shahozahi was executed in Adel Abad prison in Shiraz on drug charges.
Shahozahi, 35 years old, the son of Abdul Samad, married with a young child and from Zahedan, was arrested in Shiraz in 2020 on drug charges. He was sentenced to death in Zahedan Revolutionary Court.
According to this report, the day before the execution, Abdullah’s family went to Shiraz for a last visit. But they had a car accident on the way and are currently hospitalized in Khatam Zahedan Hospital. They did not manage to meet their loved one for the last time.

On Sunday, December 18, two prisoners of drug and murder charges were executed in Sari prison. Mohammad Akbari was one of these prisoners who was sentenced to death for murder. The identity of the other prisoner who was sentenced to death on drug-related charges is not known.

Qasim Salarzahi and Aziz Gargij executed on December 17.
Two Baloch prisoners named Qasim Salarzahi in Zahedan prison and Aziz Gargij in Zabul prison, were executed on charges related to drugs.
According to this report by Rasanak, 40-year-old Qasim Salarzahi, was the son of Hashem, married and father of three children. In 2019, he was arrested in Zahedan on drug charges and sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of this city.
The other prisoner, Aziz Gargij known as Bidullah, 25 years old, was from Zahak, was also arrested in 2019 on drug charges in Zahak. He was sentenced to death by the Zabul Revolutionary Court headed by Judge Babaei.
These two men were executed without notifying their families and not having a last visit. After the execution, the families of the prisoners were informed to come to receive the bodies of their loved ones.

Abolfazl Heidarzadeh executed in Zanjan on December 15.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man identified as 30-year-old Abolfazl Heidarzadeh, a driver from Kazeroun, was executed in Zanjan Central Prison on December 15.
Sources told IHR that Abolfazl was arrested three years ago and sentenced to death for drug-related charges by the Revolutionary Court.

According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, at dawn today, Wednesday, December 14, 2022, two prisoners named Mehdi Khoshbakht and Hamed Nobakht were executed in Hamadan prison.

The Islamic Republic judiciary has announced the public execution of protester Majidreza Rahnavard in Mashhad, just 23 days after his arrest. He is the second protester to be executed in five days after the execution of Mohsen Shekari on December 8.
The Islamic Republic’s judiciary announced the public execution of protester Majidreza Rahnavard in the early hours of December 12. The 23-year-old protester was arrested on November 19, two days after the alleged incident and his trial took place just ten days later.
Rahnavard has been accused of killing two Basij militia forces in Mashhad during protests. Nonetheless, the assailant’s face cannot be identified by any CCTV cameras that captured the scene.
Majidreza was sentenced to death for charges of moharebeh (enmity against god) by the Mashhad Revolutionary Court presided over by Judge Mansouri. It is not clear when the sentence was upheld by the Supreme Court. Earlier, pro-government mobs assaulted his family’s apartment and broke doors and windows to terrorize his family.
At least nine other protesters have officially been sentenced to death and dozens more charged with death penalty charges.
Iran Human Rights condemns Majidreza Rahnavard’s execution in the strongest possible terms and repeats its call on the international community for urgent action and warns that in the absence of serious measures to deter the Islamic Republic from executing protesters, we will be facing even more horrific crimes like the 1980s mass execution of political prisoners.
Director Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam said: “The public execution of a young protester, 23 days after his arrest, is another serious crime committed by the Islamic Republic leaders and a significant escalation of the level of violence against protesters. Majidreza Rahnavard was sentenced to death based on coerced confessions, after a grossly unfair process and a show trial.  This crime must be met with serious consequences for the Islamic Republic. There are thousands of detained protesters, and a dozen death sentences already issued. There is a serious risk of mass-execution of protesters. Today's execution must receive such a strong response as to deter the Islamic Republic leaders from more executions."
"The Islamic Republic leaders are committing such crimes because they need to spread fear among people and save the regime from the nationwide protests. They have committed grave human rights crimes before. In the 1980s, thousands of protesters and political opponents were executed. The perpetrators of those crimes are now holding key positions of power. Unless the political cost of the executions is increased significantly, we will be facing mass executions,” he added.

Asghar Alizadeh and Ebrahim Broujerdi executed in Khorramabad on December 12. According to Hrana, on Monday, December 12, two prisoners named Asghar Alizadeh from Kohdasht and Ebrahim Broujerdi from Borujerd were executed in Khorramabad prison on drug charges.

The Islamic Republic’s judiciary announced the execution of protester Mohsen Shekari this morning. IHR condemns his execution in the strongest possible terms and urges the international community to stop the execution of protesters.
Director Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam said: “Mohsen Shekari was executed after a hasty and unfair trial without a lawyer. The international community must immediately and strongly react to this execution. The Islamic Republic must face consequences that will prevent the further execution of protesters. If Mohsen Shekari’s execution is not met with serious consequences for the government, we will face mass execution of protesters.”
According to the judiciary’s Mizan news agency, protester Mohsen Shekari was executed in the early hours of December 8. Mohsen was arrested on Sattar Khan Street in Tehran on September 25.
Mohsen was sentenced to death for charges of “moharebeh (enmity against god) through pulling a weapon with the intention of killing and creating terror and depriving the public of freedom and security, causing intentional injury with a cold weapon to a basij officer on duty, blocking Sattar Khan Street in Tehran and disrupting national order and security.”
It took 75 days from Mohsen Shekari’s arrest to execution. He was denied access to his lawyer throughout the interrogation phase or legal proceedings. Mohsen’s forced confessions were aired hours after his execution by the IRGC’s Fars news agency. In the video, his face is visibly injured.
This is the first officially reported execution of a protester arrested during the current nationwide protests. Death penalty sentences have been issued against at least 11 other protesters; they are at serious and imminent risk of execution. Dozens more protesters are also facing death penalty charges.
Article 279 of the Islamic Penal Code (IPC), moharebeh is defined as “drawing a weapon on the life, property or chastity of people or to cause terror as it creates the atmosphere of insecurity.” Article 282 sets out the punishments of “death penalty, crucifixion, amputation of right hand and left leg and banishment” which the judge has the discretion to choose per Article 283.

According to Rokna, on Wednesday, December 7, a man was executed in the Rajaei Shahr prison of Karaj.

Nasser Omarzahi and Alireza Naroouie executed in Zahedan on December 5.
Two Baluchi prisoners, Nasser Omarzahi and Alireza Naroouie, were executed in Zahedan Central Prison on Monday, December 5, 2022 accused of drug possession.
Omarzahi, 32 -year -old, son of Cheragh, resident of Khash, had two young children. Alireza Naroouie, 39 -year -old, son of Wali Mohammad, from Zahedan and a resident of Khash. Was married, had four children.
The report quotes a source. “Nasser Omarzahi, Alireza Naroouie, Mohammad Amin Umar, Anoushirvan Omarzahi, Ghulam Rasul Mazarzai had a joint case. And they were all arrested for drug -related charges. They were sentenced to death in the Zahedan Revolutionary Court, which was executed within a week.”

Gholam Rasoul Mazarzehi and Anoushirvan Omarzehi executed in Zahedan on December 4.
According to Hal Vash, two Baluch man were executed in Zahedan Central Prison on December 4. Their identities have been reported as Gholam Rasoul Mazarzehi and Anoushirvan Omarzehi.
Gholam Rasoul’s brother, Abdolnabi Mazarzehi who was also his co-defendant, was executed at the prison on November 28.
The men were executed without their families being notified and the opportunity to say goodbye.
At the time of writing, these executions have not been reported by media in Iran.

Iran executes four men for 'intelligence cooperation' with Israel
In correction of the news published yesterday (which contained some inconsistencies that HoC indicated) today we learn that 4 men were executed, and not just "sentenced", on charges of "espionage for Israel".
The timeline better outlined today indicates that Hossein Ordukhanzadeh, Shahin Imani Mahmoudabad, Milad Ashrafi Atbatan, and Manouchehr Shahbandi Bejandi were arrested in June 2022, quickly tried by a first instance court which sentenced them to death, a sentence that last week was confirmed by the Supreme Court, and that a few days later, on Sunday 4 December, it was carried out.
Mizan News, affiliated with the country's judiciary, announced that the sentences were carried out in the wee hours of the morning.
The individuals were charged with "destroying private and public property, kidnappings and obtaining false confessions", according to the judiciary.
They were identified as Hossein Ordukhanzadeh, Shahin Imani Mahmoudabad, Milad Ashrafi Atbatan, and Manouchehr Shahbandi Bejandi.
3 other accused in the case were given jail terms ranging between 5 and 10 years on charges of "crime against the country's security, aiding in kidnapping and possession of weapons".
They allegedly received payment in the form of cryptocurrencies and bought weapons and equipment while receiving training on how to destroy evidence, evade security cameras, and swap vehicles, something the Iranian judiciary said underlines Mossad’s role.
Their cases were referred to the Supreme Court, which confirmed the sentences carried out on Sunday. The judiciary announced the verdicts on Wednesday.
Iran’s state media, citing judiciary officials, said these men were arrested in a joint operation by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the intelligence ministry in June this year.
Iran and Israel are regional arch-foes and Iran occasionally announces the detention of people it says are working for foreign powers, also including the United States and its European allies.
The executions come as Iran continues to deal with over 2 months of protests that erupted in mid-September after the death of Mahsa Amini, a young woman who was arrested by the country’s morality police for alleged non-compliance with a mandatory dress code.
Iran has accused the US, Israel, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Saudi Arabia of being behind the unrest, and 40 foreign nationals have been arrested during “riots” since September, according to the judiciary.

Woman, Mouloud Molazadeh, executed in Isfahan on December 3.
According to Iraninan Human Rights Society, on Saturday, December 3, 2022, a female prisoner named Mouloud Molazadeh (Mowloud Mollazadeh) was executed in Dastgerd prison in Isfahan.
“Ms. Mollazadeh was arrested in 2017 and sentenced to retribution for the murder of her husband’s father,” the report quoted an informed source as saying. She was transferred to Dastgerd Prison on Wednesday afternoon to execute. And finally, executed on Saturday morning.

No government in the world has executed so many women.  The NCRI Women’s Committee has previously mentioned that many of the women executed by the mullahs’ regime are themselves victims of domestic violence against women and have acted in self-defense. According to Baluchistan media reports, Mohammad Isa Zahi was from Karimabad area of Zahedan city. He was accused of murder in a street brawl in 2018.
On Thursday, November 24 Mohammad was transferred to Zahedan prison for the execution of the death sentence.

An informed source said. “In 2020, Nasser was going to Mashhad to do some work, and he was arrested at the Sahlabad checkpoint in Nahbandan because he did not have identity documents.”. On the same day, at another point, approximately 20 kilometers from the checkpoint, narcotics were discovered without the owner. And a case was filed against Nasser.

According to the Iranian Human Rights Organization, at dawn on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 a prisoner named Mehdi Tadzari, sentenced to death for murder, was executed in Ardabil Central Prison.
In this report, quoting an informed source, Mehdi Tadzkiri was arrested four years ago on charge of murdering his wife and sentenced to retribution. He went to the gallows from a ward of Ardabil prison and the plaintiffs refused to give consent.

Abdolsaboor Narouyi and an unidentified man executed in Qaen Prison.
According to Hal Vash, two men were executed Qaen Prison on November 2. The identity of one of the men who was sentenced to death for drug-related charges, has been established as 36-year-old Abdolsaboor Narouyi, a Baluch minority who was arrested three years ago. The second man who was sentenced for murder, was not identified.

Official sources have reported the execution of an unnamed man for murder in Karaj Penitentiary.
According to Rokna, a man was executed in Karaj Penitentiary on November 2. The unnamed man was sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder. According to the report, the executed man had allegedly killed a saffron merchant during a robbery of his house ten years ago.

According to an Haalvash report, on the morning of Wednesday, November 2, 2022, four prisoners named Nur Ahmad Totazahi from Zahedan, Abdullah Totazahi (Rigi) from Zahedan. Mohammad Khushal from Zabul and (unknown first name) Khosravi from Zabul executed in Birjand prison on drug charges.
In this report, an informed source is quoted. “Abdullah and Noor Ahmad were arrested in Birjand in May 2020 in a joint case on charges related to drugs. Mohammad Khushal and Khosravi were arrested in separate cases in 2019.”

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, three men were executed in Shiraz Central Prison on November 1. The identities of two of the men who were sentenced to death for drug-related charges have been established as Amir Ghoncheh and Jafar Tourjan.
Informed sources told Iran Human Rights that Amir Ghoncheh was arrested around three years ago and Jafar Touran was arrested around two years ago. They were both sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.
Another man who was executed along with Amir and Jafar was sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder. His identity has not been established at the time of writing.

Unidentified woman executed in Borujerd on October 27
A woman was hanged in the Prison of Borujerd on Thursday, October 27, 2022. The unidentified woman was charged with deliberate murder of her husband.
This is the 202nd execution of women in Iran since 2007.
Many women are currently awaiting execution in prison. Some of these women are being held in Qarchak Prison on death row. These women are mostly mothers and have several children.
Political prisoner Golrokh Ebrahimi Iraee wrote in a letter on July 27, 2019, about women who were sentenced to death for murder, saying, “In meeting women convicted of murder, I learned that a large percentage of them had murdered their husbands —instantly or based on a premeditated plan—after years of being humiliated, insulted, battered and even tortured by them and because of being deprived of their right to divorce. Although, they consider themselves criminals but are convinced that if any of their repeated appeals for divorce had been granted, they would not have committed such a crime.”

Valizadeh was sentenced for murder. “Hossein had killed his friend over financial disputes around three years ago. Hossein was on the run in Isfahan for 40 days but returned to surrender himself.”

Alireza Janipour executed in Hamadan on October 25.
At dawn on Tuesday, October 25th, the death sentence of a prisoner named Alireza Janipour was executed in Hamedan prison on drug charges. The day before, the family went to the prison for the last visit.
An informed source told the Iranian Human Rights Society: “Alireza Janipour was in prison for four years. Ten days ago, he was transferred to solitary confinement once to execute the death sentence, but he was returned to prison.”

500 executed in Iran since the beginning of the year. In relation to the population, no other country in the world carries out as many executions.
With the last 3 carried out on 22 October, Iran has reached 500 executions since the beginning of 2022. This is the highest figure in recent years. In all of 2021 there were 372, in all of 2020 there were 284, and 298 in 2019.
It should be remembered that over 80% of the executions that Hands Off Cain recorded (and published on his website) are "secret", in the sense that they are not published in the official Iranian media, but only by some NGOs of Iranian exiles abroad, which draw on their own sources. Moreover, Iran does not collaborate with international structures that deal with human rights, and despite having signed the main international agreements on the subject, it does not accept that inspections or checks are carried out on its territory. For many years, the UN Human Rights Rapporteur has been asking to be allowed to visit Iranian prisons, and has always been denied permission, and even a simple visa to enter Iran.
The figure of 500 is very high, but, as always happens in non-transparent countries, the true figure could be higher. Compared to previous years, international observers have noted a very strong increase in executions for "minor" crimes, namely drug trafficking (207). These drug executions mainly affected the Baluchi ethnic minority.

Yousef Faraji executed in Aligudarz on October 22.
At dawn on Saturday, October 22, a prisoner named Yousef Faraji, 41 years old, from Rasht, was executed in Aligudarz Prison. The Iranian Human Rights Organization wrote in the report of this execution. “Yousef Faraji was a truck driver. Mohammad Zarakzahi in Zabol prison, and Juma Gumshadzahi and Habil Shahnawazi (Hossein Zahi) in Zahedan prison.
At dawn on Saturday 22 October 2022, 3 Baloch prisoners named Mohammad Zarakzahi, Juma Gumshadzahi and Habil Shahnawazi (Hossein Zahi) were executed in the prisons of Zabol and Zahedan for drug offenses.
Mohammad Zarakzahi, 30, son of Abdullah, originally from Zabol, was arrested in 2019 in Zabol for drug offenses and sentenced to death by the revolutionary court of that city presided over by Judge Babaei.
Juma Gumshadzahi (Gumshad Zahi), son of Ramadan, was originally from Zabol. He was arrested in Zahedan for drug offenses in 2019.
Habil Shahnavazi (Hossein Zahi), 30 years old, son of Abbas, married with 3 daughters, was a resident of Khash. He was arrested in 2020 and sentenced to death for drug offenses.

Hossein Karimabadi executed in Hamedan prison on October 16, 2022
On charges of drug possession.
Hossein Karimabadi has been in prison for about four years. He has never been arrested before. An informed source told Iranian Human Rights Society. “Hossein had a first record and even though it is said that they do not execute him with a first record, they executed him.”
Hossein Karimabadi’s family went to Hamadan prison for the last visit the day before. And waited behind the prison door until morning to avoid the execution of their loved one.
An informed source said: “After being transferred to his cell, this prisoner cut his jugular vein and committed suicide, however, he was executed in this condition.”
The body of this prisoner was handed over to his family and he will be buried in Kangavar on Monday at 9:00 am.

According to HRANA, quoting Haal Vsh, on October 2, 2022, 4 Baloch prisoners and 1 unidentified prisoner were executed in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. The men have been identified as: Asif Shibak (Asef Shakib), from Zahedan and resident of Mashhad; Saeed Shibak (Saeed Shakib), 20 years old from Zahedan and resident of Mashhad; Ramadan Mazar Zahi (Ramezan Mazarzeh) from Zahedan and resident of Mashhad; and Awad Bilrani (Avaz Bilrani), a resident of Zahedan.
All of these prisoners had been convicted of drug-related crimes.

Qasem Shah Bakhsh executed in Zahedan prison on September 29.
A Baloch prisoner named Qasem Shah Bakhsh was executed in Zahedan prison today on charges of killing two Basiji agents. He was 23, son of Hamel, a resident of Pirsoran village, part of Kurin district of Zahedan.
Human rights agencies of Balochistan wrote about the case of this prisoner. “In 2018, the armed forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Korin sector located in Zahedan. With weapons and uniforms of the Revolutionary Guards, they attacked the house of one of the residents of Shuro village named “Haji Wali Mohammad” with the aim of revenge. In addition to beating the residents of the house and breaking a woman’s leg and destroying household items. Two children, 16-year-old Yasin Shah Bakhsh and 8-year-old Jabar Shah Bakhsh, were taken hostage.
After this action, Qasem Shah Bakhsh decided to take revenge on the IRGC forces. And by disarming the local Basij forces, he killed two of them with their own weapons. And in 2018, he was arrested in Zahedan and then sentenced to death on the same charges.
It should be noted that Qasem ‘s father Hamel Shah Bakhsh was killed by the military forces of the Islamic Republic in 2000.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, two men were executed in Daran Prison on September 13. One of the men has been identified as 35-year-old Ali Hemat Estaki but the identity of the second man has not been established at the time of writing. They were both sentenced for murder.
A source told Iran Human Rights: “Ali Hemat Estaki was arrested for the murder of a friend around five years ago and sentenced to death. Ali and his friend were arguing over financial issues and the murder was unintentional.”

Four Baluch men and a Baluch woman executed in Zahedan on September 10
142nd woman to be executed in 9 years.
According to Hal Vash, four Baluch men and a Baluch woman were executed in Zahedan Central Prison on September 10.
The four men’s identities have been reported as 38-year-old Khaled Raisi, 27-year-old Amrollah Basij, 42-year-old Abdolnasir Shehbakhsh (Abdul Nasir Shah Bakhsh) and 37-year-old Houshang Kord (Kurd).
The identity of the woman who was from Zahedan has not been established at the time of writing. All five prisoners were sentenced for murder in separate cases.
Khaled Raisi who was a father to four children had been arrested in Chabahar on 23 March 2019. Amrollah Basij was a father of two. Abdolnasir Shehbakhsh was arrested around three years ago and also had children. Houshang Kord was from Khash province.
Another man was taken to the gallows along with the five executed prisoners but was returned to his cell after his victim’s family changed their mind.

Informed sources told Iran Human Rights that Massoud was arrested for possession of six kilograms of heroin around four years ago and was sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court. A different source said “Masoud was innocent, he was driving a car in which a small amount of heroin discovered, while Masoud did not know about it, and he was only the driver of that car.”

According to the report of haalvsh.org, today, August 28, the death sentence of two prisoners, including a Baloch citizen and an Afghan citizen, who were previously sentenced to death due to charges related to drugs, were executed in Adel Abad prison in Shiraz.
The prisoners have been identified as Rahim Qanbarzahi (Ghanbarzehi), known as Ghani Rudini, the son of Gholam Shah, 40 years old, married with three children from Zahedan, and Mujtabi Khadmini Nejad (Khademinejad), about 37 years old, an Afghan national.
According to an informed source, Qanbarzahi was arrested in Fasa city and transferred to Adel Abad prison and sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of Shiraz. Mojtaba Khadmininejad was arrested in Shiraz and sentenced to death by the revolutionary court of that city.
The source added that due to the distance, the family of Baloch prisoner Rahim Qanbarzahi arrived in Shiraz a few hours before the execution of his death sentence, but the prison authorities did not allow them to have the last meeting with Rahim before the execution.
The source clarified that Rahim's family belongs to the oppressed and poor class, and due to lack of financial resources, they have not been able to hire a lawyer for his case so that he can defend him in court.

Mohsen Salar Zahi, known as Shahdad Kharkuhi, was the son of Hanif, about 28 years old, married with a young child, and a resident of Zahedan. He was arrested in Zahedan in 2019 on drug charges.
On Thursday, August 18, these five prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement in Zahedan prison to carry out the death sentence.
Last Friday, August 19, the families of these prisoners managed to meet their loved ones for the last time.

According to the Hal Vash, a Baluch man was executed in Saravan Prison on August 20. His identity has been reported as Moein Atashbar , sentenced for murder. At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media in Iran.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, five men were executed in Yazd Central Prison on August 18. Three of the men who were Baluch minorities and sentenced to death for drug-related offences have identified as Saeed Kashani, Khodarahm Narouyi and Hamid Narouyi. They were arrested between 7-8 years ago.
The other two men who were sentenced for murder, have been identified as Seyed Abbas Mousavi and Amir Ali Shahiki. 5 men executed in Yazd on August 18.
According to HRANA, quoting Haalvhs.org, on August 18, 2022, five Baloch prisoners identified as Amir Shahiki, 23, Abbas Mousavi, Hamid Narooie, 45, Khodarahm Narooie, 43 and Saeed Kashani, 46, were executed in Yazd Central Prison.
Hamid and Khodarahm Narooie were sentenced to death for drug smuggling in 2014. Shahiki and Mousavi were convicted of murder. These executions have not been reported by official sources and media outlets inside Iran so far.

11 prisoners executed in Arak prison
According to the Iranian Human Rights Center, citing an August 22, 2022 report of haalvsh.org on 11 prisoners have been executed in a mass execution in Arak prison on August 14, 17, and 18, 2022.
10 of them sentenced to death for drug charges and one for murder.
Names of those executed: Morteza Soltani, Ahmad Abdi Nasab, Hossein Sadeghpour, Milad Badrkhani, Hossein Ganji, Ahmad Naseri, Vahid Musa Khani (Loli), 40 years old, arrested in 2020, Mohammad Mashhad al-Kuba (Qara), 32 years old, arrested in 2018, Ahmed Marzban, Mehdi Nokarmi.
There is no information about the identity of the prisoner accused of murder.
According to this report, 4 of these prisoners, who were drug suspects, were executed on August 14, 2022: Vahid Musa Khani (Loli), Mohammad Mashhad al-Kuba (Qara), Ahmad Marzban, and Mehdi Nokarmi. On Wednesday, August 17, 2022, 6 prisoners were executed on charges of drug possession.

Mohiyedin Damani executed in Birjand on August 17. According to the Baluch Activists Campaign, a Baluch man was executed in Birjand Central Prison on August 17. His identity has been reported as Mohiyedin Damani, sentenced to death for drug-related offences by the Revolutionary Court. He was arrested in Sarbisheh around two years ago and was denied the right to a last visit with his family. At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media in Iran.

4 inmates executed in Arak Prison on August 14, 2022
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, four men were executed in Arak Central Prison on August 14. Their identities have been established as 32-year-old Mohammad Mashhadolkoobeh, 40-year-old Vahid Mousakhani (Musa Khani), a 38-year-old man only identified as Hossein Abadi and the fourth man’s identity has not been established. They were all sentenced to death for drug-related offences by the Revolutionary Court.
Mohammad was arrested in 2018. Vahid who was arrested just two years ago, had a brother named Abolfazl Mousakhani who was also executed for drug-related charges at the same prison on 12 May 2015. Mr Hossein Abadi had been behind bars for around three years.
According to HRANA, the four men were transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for their executions in a group of six prisoners. The other two men were returned to their cells for unknown reason.
At the time of writing, their executions have not been reported by domestic media in Iran.

Vahid Rahmani and Mostafa Rasoulzadeh executed in Shiraz on August 14
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, two men were executed in Shiraz Central Prison on August 14. Their identities have been established as 29-year-old Vahid Rahmani and 37-year-old Mostafa Rasoulzadeh who were sentenced to death for drug-related offences by the Revolutionary Court.
Speaking to Iran Human Rights, an informed source said: “Vahid Rahmani repaired cars for a living and was arrested three years ago. Mostafa Rasoulzadeh was a father and arrested on charges of carrying 90 kilograms of methamphetamine and heroine.”

According to HRANA, 4 inmates were executed in Arak Prison on August 10, 2022.
HRANA has identified one of the inmates as Mehdi Noor-Karami (Noor-Ghadami, Nourkarami, Noorkarmi), age 37.
An informed source close to Noor-Karami’s family told HRANA that in 2018, Noor-Karami was arrested for drug-related crimes and sentenced to death.
Prior to execution, these inmates were not granted phone calls or family visits.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, Nourkarami was a Kurdish citizen who was sentenced to death for drug-related charges by the Revolutionary Court.
A source told Iran Human Rights: “Mehdi Nourkarami was arrested three years ago and was sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court without a lawyer, because he couldn’t afford one. Hossein Alizadeh executed in Qom's Langroud prison on August 10.
According to Hale Vash news agency, this morning, August 10, 2022, the death sentence of an Afghan male prisoner was executed in Qom's Langroud prison.
The identity of this prisoner, Hossein Alizadeh, 21 years old, from Afghanistan, has been confirmed by Hale Vash.
According to an informed source, Hossein was arrested in 1998 on the charge of murder committed in a street fight with a knife and was imprisoned in Qom prison until his execution. The source added that Hossein was 18 years old when he killed a person with a knife in Motahari square of Qom.

Probable Juvenile Offender executed in Qom Central Prison on August 10. HoC had already published the news taking it from haalvsh.org, but now republishes it because IHR, which is working to verify his age, believes that the man was a minor at the time of the crime.
Mohammad Hossein Alizadeh, an Afghan national who is reported to have been 17 years old at the time of a murder, was executed in Qom Central Prison. Iran Human Rights is working to verify his age.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, an Afghan man was executed in Qom Central Prison on August 10. His identity has been established as 24-year-old Mohammad Hossein Alizadeh who was sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder.
An informed source told Iran Human Rights: “Mohammad Hossein Alizadeh was arrested in 2016 accused of committing a murder during a mass fight in Qom and sentenced to death. He was 17 years old at the time of arrest and had got into the fight when several people attacked his cousin on the street and caused the killing in his defence.”
Iran Human Rights has been unable to independently verify his age and is continuing its investigations.
Mohammad Hossein was transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for his execution with two other prisoners named Mehdi Shahpasand and Hossein Ziari. They were returned to their cells after obtaining extensions in their cases from the victims’ families.

Ali Ghareh Lar and Mojtaba Ramin executed in Qom. On August 1 and 6.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was executed in Qom Central Prison on August 6. His identity has been established as Ali Ghareh Lar (Ali Qaraler), 27, who was arrested in 2018 and sentenced to death for both drug-related and murder charges. Sources have reported that he was executed for the murder charges. According to Javanehha, Ali Qaraler was sentenced to death by Judge Davoodi Abadi on drug charges and transferred from Ward 1 of Qom Central Prison to solitary cell to be executed.
According to an informed source, “Ali Qaraler executed even though he was not guilty and he only drove a car at the request of his friend, but he arrested and sentenced to death on drug charges.”
Following the release of a video from Qom prison, in which Hamid Qaraler, the brother of this prisoner, along with other prisoners, asked for help from people of Iran, prison officials transferred Hamid to solitary cell as punishment.
Also, according to information, the family of this prisoner could not see him for the last time before his execution. And the reason for that is the publication of this video on social networks.
Another prisoner was executed at the prison on August 1. His identity has been established as Mojtaba Ramin, sentenced for murder.

Reza Me'raji e Nemat Valipour Executed in in Shiraz and Sabzevar on July 31.
At dawn on July 31, 2022, a prisoner was executed at Adelabad Prison in Shiraz. The prisoner, who was arrested for murder four years ago and sentenced to death, was identified as Reza Me'raji, 30, of Arsanjan.
Furthermore, at dawn on Sunday, July 31, a prisoner identified as Nemat Valipour, 36, with one child, was executed in Sabzevar Prison. It is said that the prisoner was sentenced on murder charges three years ago. He was a factory worker and had committed murder because of financial matters.
So far, the execution of these prisoners has not been announced by the media inside Iran.

On 30 June, two Azerbaijani-Turkic prisoners identified as Omid Ebrahimi and Salar Nasiri were executed in Urmia Central Prison.

Saeed Shah Bakhsh and Ziaullah Brahui executed in Damghan prison on July 27
The death sentence of two Baloch prisoners was executed in Damghan prison due to drug-related charges.
According to Hale Vash/Sahargah News Agency, today, July 29, 2022, the death sentence of two prisoners sentenced to death due to drug-related charges was executed in Damghan prison.
The identities of these two Baloch prisoners, Saeed Shah Bakhsh, son of Majid, married with several children, from Zahedan, and Ziaullah Brahui (Yagizahi), 35 years old, married with children, from Zahedan, have been confirmed.
According to an informed source, Saeed and Ziaullah were transferred to the solitary cell of Damghan Prison on Wednesday, July 27, to execute the sentence.

According to Rokna, a man was executed in Rasht Central Prison on July 28. His identity has only been reported as M. F., a 27-year-old conscript who was arrested for the murder of Omid Chayi, a police officer last October.
Local websites had previously reported that the victim was in charge of the Lahijan Province Public Service Department and repeatedly denied the executed man’s request for an exemption from service. The man was later identified as Morteza Falah-Delavar

Payam Yazdani, Heyva Ahmadi and Abdollah Rahimi.
According to newly confirmed information, 3 men were executed in Sanandaj Central Prison on July 27. Their identities have been established as 26-year-old Payam Yazdani, 37-year-old Heyva Ahmadi, both from the village of Bisaran in Marivan, and Abdollah Rahimi, 72.

Senobar Jalali executed in Rajai-Shahr Prison on July 27, 2022
A female Afghan national
According to HRANA, on July 27, 2022, a female inmate was executed in Rajai-Shahr Prison in Karaj.
The execution brings to 140 the number of women executed in Iran since the summer of 2013.
HRANA has identified this woman as Senobar Jalali, an Afghan national who had murdered her husband in a family fight.
A source told HRANA that one day before the execution, Jalali had been relocated from Qarchak Prison in Varamin to Rajai Shahr Prison.
This execution has not been reported by the official sources and media outlets inside Iran so far.
The execution of Senobar Jalali in Gohardasht Prison took place on the same day as the executions of Soheila Abedi in the Central Prison of Sanandaj and Farank Beheshti in the Central Prison of Urmia.
The clerical regime sent three women to the gallows on the same day.
On July 21, 2022, Robab Danaii was executed in the Prison of Yazd, central Iran. The regime has thus executed four women in only one week.

She had been arrested eight years ago and sentenced to death for killing her husband. Born in 1989, Soheila Abed had been forced into marriage at age 15. She was arrested on January 26, 2015, for killing her husband after being violently battered at home. She had been sentenced by Branch One of the Sanandaj Criminal Court.
The court cited the reason for the murder as “family disputes.” According to informed sources, Soheila was a child bride married at 15 and had committed the murder ten years later.
Soheila's case had previously been sent for implementation in October 2021 after her husband's family refused to forgo retribution. At the time of writing, her execution has not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, two men were executed in Isfahan Central Prison on July 26. Their identities have been established as 40-year-old Gholam Nourzehi, a Baluch man living in Isfahan and 38-year-old Jomeh Barakzehi, an Afghan national. The men were sentenced to death for drug-related charges in the same case. Hal Vash which first reported their executions writes that they were arrested in Isfahan as part of the same case three years ago, and detained in Isfahan Central Prison since.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, two men were executed in Hamedan Central Prison on July 26. Their identities have been established as 35-year-old Ahmad Ghadimi and Shahram Yadegar, sentenced to death for drug-related charges in separate cases.
A source told Iran Human Rights: “Ghadimi worked in a supermarket before his arrest and had a small child. Yadegari was arrested around three years ago.”

According to Hale Vash news agency, quoting Human Rights in Iran, at dawn on Monday, July 25 (August 3, 1401), three male prisoners from Ward 101 of Vakil Abad prison in Mashhad city were executed in this prison on the charge of premeditated murder.
An informed source said, "In the late hours of Sunday, July 24, 2022, these 3 prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement from Ward 101 of Vakil Abad Prison in Mashhad to execute death sentences."
The identity of these 3 prisoners is not known. The execution of these 3 prisoners has not been announced by the Iranian media or official sources until the moment of writing this report.

According to Hal Vash, two Baluch men were executed in Zahedan Central Prison on July 23. Their identities have been reported as Esmail Narouyi who was sentenced to death for drug-related charges and Khaled Paraki (pictured), sentenced for murder.
Esmail Narouyi is reported to have been arrested on the road between Zahedan and Mashhad three years ago on charges of drug possession. Khaled Paraki had been behind bars for murder during a tribal war for six years.
Iran Human Rights reported the execution of Shokat Shehbakhsh at the prison, this bring the total number that day to three.
At the time of writing, none of their executions have been reported by domestic media in Iran.

According to Hal Vash, a Baluch man was executed in Zahedan Central Prison on July 23. His identity has been reported as 38-year-old Shokat Shehbakhsh. He was a father with small children when he was arrested with co-defendant Mousa Shehbakhsh in 2016 and sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.
His co-defendant, Mousa Shehbakhsh was executed at the same prison on 18 October 2021.

Iman Sabzikar was publicly executed in Shiraz on of July 23
According to IRIB news agency, a man was publicly executed in Shiraz on the morning of July 23. His identity has been reported as 28-year-old Iman Sabzikar (Jonaghi) from Yasuj who was sentenced toqisas (retribution-in-kind) in public for stabbing and intentionally killing Ali Akbar Ranjbar, a police officer on 2 February 2022. The sentence was upheld by Branch 9 of the Supreme Court on July 12.
The official report states that Iman Sabzikar was executed at 5:40 am at the location where the alleged murder took place. He was a construction worker prior to arrest. This is the first public execution since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. The last recorded public execution was carried out on 11 June 2020. Four other men who were all also sentenced to qisas for the murder of police officers are currently at risk.
Iran Human Rights strongly condemns Iman Sabzikar’s execution and calls on the international community for a strong response against the resumption of public executions.
Director, Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam said: “The resumption of this brutal punishment in public is intended to scare and intimidate people from protesting. We can raise the cost of carrying out such medieval practices by people protesting more against the death penalty - particularly public executions – and the international community taking a strong stance.”
According to the UN Human Rights Committee, public executions are in violation of Article 7 the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights which Iran is a signatory to, which states that "No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.” It further violates Article 6 of the Convention which stipulates that “Every human being has the inherent right to life. This right shall be protected by law. No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his life.”

Farhad Kouhkan, Davoud Amirzadeh, Hamid Jahangard and Habib Totazehi.
According to Hal Vash (Hale Vash, Haal Vsh), four Baluch men were executed in Zabol Prison on July 23. The identities of three of the men sentenced to death for drug-related charges have been reported as Farhad Kouhkan, 35-year-old Davoud Amirzadeh-Gorgij (pictured) and Hamid Jahangard (Shehbakhsh). They were separately arrested between 2018-2020 and sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.
The identity of the fourth man has been reported as Habib Totazehi who was sentenced for murder.

According to Hrana, Haal Vsh reported the execution of three inmates convicted of drug-related crimes in one legal case in Qom Prison. Haal Vsh has identified them as Hamed Safa, Ali Mohamad Moradi and Ali Hosseini.
The source added, "Hamid Safa and Ali Mohammad Moradi were arrested separately in 2018 along with another person named Bahadur Nowrozi in a joint case in Qom on charges of narcotics and were sentenced to death by the Qom Revolutionary Court branch. Bahador Nowruzi was executed in Qom on July 9, 2022.

Seyyed Sarrajul Haq Siddiqui (also Sarajolhagh Sedighi) executed on July 23 in Shiraz prison. According to Javanehha, the death sentence of a Pakistani religious, belonging to the Baluch minority, named Seyyed Sarrajul Haq Siddiqui was carried out on 23 July in Adel Abad prison. IHR reports the same news but, citing Hal Vash as the original source, places the execution on July 24.
Javanehha, citing an informed source, says: "Serrajul Haq was transferred to solitary confinement on Thursday 21 July and was executed on 23 July". He was arrested in 2007 on suspicion of participating in a murder and has since been detained in Adel Abad Prison in Shiraz for 15 years. He was about 45 years old.
IHR writes that the man was arrested in 2017, and adds: “Sarajolhagh Sedighi was transferred to the central prison in Shiraz for his execution from Pirbano prison. Yesterday they transferred his body to Pakistan by land”.

The death sentences of three citizens called Robab Danayi (Danaii), Amir Ojaghi, and Heydar Hibouzadeh who were previously arrested and sentenced to death on charges of murder and drug-related crimes, were carried out in the morning on Thursday, July 21, 2022, in Yazd Central Prison. According to the report received by the Hengaw Human Rights organization, Amir Ojaghi from Kermanshah was arrested 6 years ago in Mehriz, Yazd, on charges of drug-related crimes. Haal Vash News Agency has reported that Robab Danayi, a woman from from Yazd, and Haydar Hibouzadeh (Brahuyi), 29, a Balouch citizen were arrested and sentenced to death on the charge of premeditated murder.
After the hanging of Danayi, the number of women executed in Iran since 2013 reached 137.

According to Rokna quoting the Alborz Province Chief Justice, two men sentenced to moharebeh (enmity against god) through an armed robbery, were executed in Karaj Penitentiary.
While the report does not name the men or specify their date of execution, Iran Human Rights has established their identities as 27-year-old Farzad Garavand and 28-year-old Mohammad Hatami who were executed on July 13.
A source previously told Iran Human Rights: “Mohammad Hatami was a shepherd in a village, with two small children. They told him he could earn good money by accompanying them on a trip somewhere. He was tricked into the armed robbery. Mohammad and Farzad Garavand were arrested on charges of armed robbery with several other people around ten months ago. Another man was also executed at the prison on June 20. His identity has been established as Mohsen Safari from Kelishad who was sentenced to death for drug-related charges. Speaking to Iran Human Rights, an informed source said: “Amirhossein Abadi was from Lanjan in Isfahan and had been arrested and sentenced to death around three years ago.”
“Mohsen Safari was arrested around two years ago. He was transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for execution twice in Ordibehesht (Iranian month that falls between 21 April-21 May). But he was returned to the ward on the orders of the forensic medical organisation each time because he had a medical case, forensic doctors had confirmed that he had history of bipolar and other medical disorders. But in the end, they closed his case and denied his mental illnesses”.

According to Rokna, a man was executed at an unspecified date in Jolfa Prison. The unnamed man sentenced for murder.
The report states that the executed man had set fire to a house with two other men on 17 April 2009, which had caused the death of a pregnant woman and her six-year-old child.
His execution was carried out after half the diya was paid by a public fund as a woman’s diya is half a man’s. One of his co-defendants is also awaiting execution and another has managed to escaped the gallows after the victims’ family chose to forgo their right to retribution.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, two men were executed in Qom Central Prison on the morning of July 9. Their identities have been established as 38-year-old Abolfazl Rahmani and 40-year-old Mehrollah Rigi, who were sentenced to death for drug-related charges by the Revolutionary Court.
A source told Iran Human Rights: “Abolfazl Rahman was arrested for drug offences four years ago and sentenced to death. He was a crane driver prior to arrest and had a child.”
“Mehrollah Rigi was from Zahedan and had been arrested for drug offences three years ago. He was arrested with another person whose death sentence was commuted to 15 years imprisonment last year but Mehrollah was executed as the first defendant in the case,” the source added.
According to Hal Vash which first reported Mehrollah Rigi’s execution, he was a Baluch minority.
The two prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for their executions with two others who were returned to their cells after obtaining extensions in their murder cases.

According to HRANA, quoting Haal Vsh, on Thursday, July 7, 2022, an inmate identified as Behzad Narooie, age 33, was executed in Zahedan Prison. Haal Vsh also reported the execution of an inmate identified as Mohammad Shahi, age 48 in Zabol Prison. He was sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of Zahedan in 2018. Mohammad Shahi was arrested for a drug-related crime in 2019. Both inmates were allowed to have their last family visitation one day before the execution.

3 men executed on July 5
Official sources have reported the execution of three men for rape in a prison in the TehranAlborz region.
According to Rokna, three men were executed in a prison in the Tehran/Alborz region on July 5. The report does not specify their names or the exact location of the executions.
The news was published on July 23 by IHR.
The report states that they were sentenced to death for the rape of 14 women in Chalous Road around 17 years ago.
Iran Human Rights has not been able to independently verify the executions at the time of writing.
In cases of rape, there is a high chance of defendants being tortured to make false confessions, which is used to issue death sentences. Iran is one of the few countries in the world that issues the death penalty for rape. A lot of cases are also rushed without the defendants having access to a lawyer.

More about the June 29 executions in Rajai Shahr. Hrana was the first NGO to publish the news of "10 executions in Rajai Shahr on June 29". The day after the news was picked up by IHR, which first spoke of 4 executions carried out and 5 postponed, and then, on 1 July, 4 more carried out in addition to the 4 already reported. On June 30, the news was also picked up by the Jerusalem Post and Radio Farda (which is part of the Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty network). Putting the news together, we do not arrive at an unambiguous version, but it seems that the executions carried out on June 29 were between 8 and 10 anyway. According to Hrana, 8 were accused of murder and 2 of rape, while according to IHR the men accused of sex crimes were 4, identified as Hamed Alayi, Iman Safavi, Ali Khanbadal and Ali Khangoldi. The others, 2 of whom identified as Iman Safari-rad and Mehdi Khlagaldi, were charged with murder. Iman Safavi and Iman Safari-Rad (also spelled Safavi Rad) are likely the same person. According to Hrana and the Jerusalem Post, Iman Safavi Rad was probably homosexual, and judging by how the sentence was motivated, perhaps so was Mehdi Khlagaldi (also spelled Khalgoldi). According to Radio Farda, 8 men were accused of murder, one of rape, and 1 of sodomy. Radio Farda also cites Farhad Meisamy, a civil activist detained for 4 years in Rajai Shahr, according to whom "about 200 executions are carried out in this prison every year". The Jerusalem Post attaches great importance to the fact that at least one of the executed was homosexual. He quotes an Iranian dissident who now lives in Germany, Dr. Kazem Moussavi, according to whom the Iranian regime, to avoid international controversy, tends to hide the executions of homosexuals, and uses the accusation of rape as a "cover". According to Hal Vash, a man was executed in Zabol Prison on July 2. His identity has been reported as 40-year-old Rahmat Valinejad from Rasht, who was sentenced for murder.
A source is quoted as saying that he was arrested for murder in Zabol in 2016 and had been held in Nasr Abad Prison in Zabol until the day of his execution.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, the executions of ten inmates were carried out in Rajai Shahr Prison, in Karaj. 8 were convicted of murder and 2 of rape. HRANA has identified two inmates as Iman Safari-rad and Mehdi Khlagaldi.

Nasrollah Iliad and an identified man executed in Karaj on June 27.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, at least two men were executed in Karaj Penitentiary on June 27. One of the men’s identities has been established as 40-year-old Nasrollah Iliad who was sentenced for murder.
The identity of the second man who was sentenced to death for rape has not been established at the time of writing.
A source told Iran Human Rights that Nasrollah Iliad was married with a child and had killed his landlord during a physical altercation.

Abdol Latif Moradi executed in Mashhad on June 20.
According to the Judiciary’s Mizan news agency which has quoted Khorasan Razavi judicial officials, an Afghan man was executed in “the presence of a group of citizens” in Mashhad Central Prison on June 20. His identity has been reported as Abdol Latif Moradi, who was sentenced to death on charges of “moharebeh through drawing a weapon on people with the intention of inciting and creating terror that has caused insecurity in the (Motahar Razavi) shrine and even outside it." The official report states that the attack led to the death of two and injury of a third cleric.
Ofogh news agency has reported that Abdol Latif Moradi was an Afghan national.
Following his arrest 77 days ago (April 5), he was sentenced to death by Branch One of the Mashhad Revolutionary Court after a public trial. The sentence was upheld by Branch 9 of the Supreme Court and immediately sent for implementation. According to officials, Abdol Latif Moradi’s execution was “carried out in the presence of a group of citizen and officials by hanging in Mashhad Central Prison (Vakilabad).”
That the legal proceedings and formalities took just 77 days from arrest to execution raises serious concerns about breaches of his due process and fair trial rights.

Firuz Musalou (Mousa Lou) secretly executed in Urmia Prison on June 20.
Kurdish Political Prisoner Firuz Musalou was secretly executed on charges of moharebeh in Urmia Central Prison on 20 June after a trial that lasted just minutes. Neither his family nor his lawyer were informed of his scheduled execution and his body was secretly buried without being returned to the family.
Official sources have reported the execution of a man for the murder of two border forces without revealing the name and details of the case which seems to have been Firuz Mousalu.
One of his relatives previously told Iran Human Rights: “Firouz surrendered to security forces on Thursday, June 11, 2019, after receiving safe passage from the Revolutionary Guards at the Sardasht border.
In March he was sentenced to death by Branch 2 of the Urmia Revolutionary Court on charges of moharebeh for ‘armed uprising’ through membership in Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).”
Firuz Musalou was from the village of Ghotoor (Qotur, Kotol) in Khoy.
“After speaking to them several times, the IRGC Intelligence organisation convinced the Musalou family to get their son out of the group. The IRGC guaranteed that they would release him after three days and provide him with a letter of protection. The Musalou family trusted the IRGC and entered the Kurdistan Region in Iraq legally to bring their son back so he could surrender himself,” his relatives told Iran Human Rights.
“They convinced Firuz to come back to Iran with his family and turn himself over to the IRGC. He surrendered at the Sardasht Province IRGC Intelligence at the first opportunity and the IRGC told his family to go to Urmia Court in four days for his release,” the source continued.
Firuz was transferred from the IRGC Intelligence Sardasht branch to the Urmia branch where he spent eight months under “torture and interrogations” in their detention.
“The IRGC was looking to fabricate a case against him for participating in an armed operation. This is while Firuz had denied taking part in any armed operations, the IRGC tricked his family so they could fabricate a case against him,” the source concluded.
Iran Human Rights strongly condemns Firuz Musalou’s arbitrary execution and holds the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei directly responsible for the crime.
Director, Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam said: “Firuz Musalou’s execution is unlawful according to the Islamic Republic’s own laws. The breaches in the case that include forced confessions under torture, trial lasting minutes, secret execution and not returning the body to his family to torment them, all clearly show that the Islamic Republic’s judiciary is an institution of repression which adds a legal gloss to their crimes.”
Firuz Mousalu’s brother told Iran Human Rights: “The family went to the court and asked for his body. The judge and the prosecutor’s representative told them that they weren’t permitted to return his body and had buried him themselves. The family had no idea Firuz was about to be executed and even his lawyer wasn’t informed.”
“He had three court appointed lawyers who took 2 billion tomans from us but Firuz told us that none of the lawyers defended him in the trial that only took minutes and he was sentenced to death. During his interrogations, he had confessed to the murder of two border officials under physical torture because he had no choice but to confess. They also forced him to do a televised confession. Firuz hadn’t killed those two people and had nothing to do with their deaths.  
At least 69 people have been executed in Iranian prisons in the last three weeks. On June 8, Iran Human Rights reported the highest monthly execution rate since 2018 and warned of the dramatic rise in the use of the death penalty in Iran.

Rasoul Khosravi-Baboli and Gholam Eslami executed in Shiraz on June 19. Gholam was paraplegic and transferred to the gallows in his wheelchair.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, two men were executed in Shiraz Central Prison on 19 June. Their identities have been established as 37-year-old Rasoul Khosravi-Baboli and Gholam Eslami, both sentenced for murder.
Speaking to Iran Human Rights about the executions, a source said: “Gholam Eslami was behind bars since being arrested for murder during a fight four years ago. He was stabbed in the back with a sharp object in the fight and was paraplegic. He was transferred to the gallows in his wheelchair.”
“Rasoul Khosravi-Baboli was from Babol and had spent around 4 years behind bars.”

According to the Baluch Activists Campaign, a Baluch man was executed in Bandarabbas Central Prison on the morning of 15 June. His identity has been reported as Ali Ranjbar from Minab, sentenced for drug-related offences. Ali was deprived of the right to a lawyer during his legal proceedings but had repeatedly denied the charges against him. A source said: “The judicial and security forces fabricated the case against him. They had also charged him with ‘propaganda against the system’ and baghy (armed rebellion) which he was acquitted of due to a lack of evidence.”

8 men were executed in Rajai Shahr Prison today. At least 56 people have been executed in Iranian prisons in the last two weeks.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, eight men were executed in Rajai Shahr Prison. All men were sentenced for murder.
Two of the men have been identified as 25-year-old Mohammad Shokri (Shokrian), a Kurdish citizen, and 24-year-old Ali Gholami. The identities of the other six men have not been established at the time of writing. Iran Human Rights is continuing its investigations to establish their identities. According to a source, Mohammad Shokrian from Ivan-e-Gharb of Ilam province, threw a knife at his friend three years ago in Tehran while they were drunk and were not in a normal state, and he killed his friend.
Mohammad Shokrian was sentenced to death by the judiciary three years ago after surrendering to the police and declaring the murder unintentional.
According to informed sources, the prisoners were transferred to the gallows from the youth wards 2 and 6 (known as Darol-Quran).
At the time of writing, none of their executions have been reported by domestic media in Iran.
At least 56 people have been executed in Iranian prisons in the last two weeks. Iran Human Rights had warned about the dramatic rise in executions since the nationwide protests began on 7 May.

Five men executed in Shiraz on June 12
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, five men were executed in Shiraz Central Prison on 12 June. Three of the men have been identified as Afghan-national, Fahim Valiollah Dini, Mojtaba Ali Nazar from Maroudasht and 37-year-old Ali Akaram Kianpour from Darab.
Mojtaba Ali Nazar and Ali Karam Kianpour were sentenced for murder, and the other three prisoners including Fahim Valiollah Dini, were all sentenced to death for drug-related offences.
The Baluch Activists Campaign has identified another of the men as Jomeh Makaki (pictured). The identity of the fifth man who was also Baluch has not been established at the time of writing.
Jomeh Makaki was arrested for drug-related offences around five years ago and was sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.
According to Iran Human Rights’ sources, Mojtaba Ali Nazar had spent four years behind bars for murder and Ali Karam Kianpour had spent five years in prison for murder.

Mehdi Kiani executed in Dieselabad Prison in Kermanshah on June 12
The death sentence of a soldier from Kuhdasht of Lorestan Province, identified as Mehdi Kiani was carried out on Sunday, June 12, 2022, in Dieselabad Prison in Kermanshah. He was arrested and sentenced to death a few years ago for the murder of a cadre of conscripts.
According to Hengaw Human Rights Organization, Mehdi Kiani had killed Omid Ghasemi from Sarpol-e-Zahab, with a gun a few years ago in the Abu Dharr barrack in Sarpol-e-Zahab, after a struggle with one of the commanders of the barracks. Hengaw was informed that Mehdi Kiani was transferred to solitary confinement in Kermanshah Central Prison last Thursday. Until publishing this news, the execution of Mehdi Kiani was not announced by the state media and government sources.

Mohammad Kiani Dehkiani executed in Kermanshah on June 12
According to Aftab News, a conscript soldier was executed in Kermanshah Central Prison on the morning of June 12. His identity has been reported as Mohammad Kiani Dehkiani from Ghaleh Sard village in Khuzestan, who was sentenced for the murder of his superior at the shooting range.
The circumstances of the “intentional killing” have been reported as: “The young soldier had just returned from leave when he was called to the shooting range and his resistance to not go was futile. Things did not go well at the shooting range and a struggle ensues between the commander and soldier; according to the soldier’s family who quoted their son, their son fires a shot that hits the commander’s hand after things escalated and he had been subjected to intensified stress. The commander reached for his colt and the soldier who was terrified and has frozen, fires another shot which hits the commander’s belly. The commander lost a lot of a blood on the way to the base and the taxi journey to the hospital from there, and passed away a few days later.”
At the time of arrest, Mohammad Kiani Dehkiani’s family who are poor villagers from the south of Iran, did not know or have the means to hire a lawyer for their son. Family and friends later hired a lawyer and his parents and village elders made several trips to seek forgiveness from the victim’s family in person to save him. All their efforts were in vain when he was executed on Saturday morning.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, two men were executed in Zanjan Central Prison on 11 June. Their identities have been established as 45-year-old Ali Samandarnejad from Hashtroud and Touraj Keshavarz from Hamedan. They were sentenced to death for drug-related charges by the Revolutionary Court.
Speaking to Iran Human Rights about the executed men, an informed source said: “Touraj Keshavarz was a father of two and had been behind bars for four years. He was a lorry driver prior to his arrest. Ali Samandarnejad had also been in prison for four years for charges of carrying 110 kilograms of methamphetamine.”

Sattar Arghandeh executed in Ilam on June 8.
The death sentence of a Kurdish prisoner from Malekshahi, identified as Sattar Arghandeh, was carried out on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, in Ilam Central Prison, whereas he was sentenced to death only on the basis of the Judge’s personal knowledge. According to a report received by Hengaw, Sattar Arghandeh was arrested by security forces two years ago on charges of premeditated murder and sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It is worth mentioning that Sattar Arghandeh is married, has two children, and has not confessed to the murder in the last two years. There is no evidence that proves he has committed the murder, and he has been sentenced to death only on the basis of "the Judge's personal knowledge".

Asghar Habibi executed in Khalkhal Prison on June 8.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was executed in Kahlkhal Prison on the morning of 8 June. His identity has been established as 31-year-old Asghar Habibi, sentenced for murder. A source told Iran Human Rights: “Asghar Habibi was arrested in Khalkhal on murder charges in 2013. But he wasn’t even in Khalkhal at the time of the murder and had no role in the murder. His sentence was upheld in 2016 and overturned by the Supreme Court that same year. But the victim’s family filed a complaint again and the sentence was upheld by the Supreme Court in 2019. Asghar maintained his innocence and said he wasn’t even in Khalkhal and had nothing to do with the murder until the day of his execution." Asghar Habibi spent the first five years of his imprisonment in Ardabil Central Prison and was consequently transferred to Khalkhal Prison. According to Hal Vash, a Baluch man was executed in Birjand Central Prison on the morning 8 June. His identity has been reported as Mohammadreza Narouyi-Ghazagh, from Zahedan. Noor Ahmad Barangahzai executed in Dastgerd prison in Isfahan on June 7.
The news is reported by IHR, which however only published it in Farsi, and not in English. IHR cites as its primary source the Hal Vash website, which specializes in news on ethnic and religious minorities in the Sistan and Baluchestan Province. According to this source, a Baluch man, Noor Ahmad Baranzehi, was hanged on the morning of Tuesday, June 7 in the Dastgerd prison in Esfahan. A source told IHR: "Baranzehi was arrested about four years ago and sentenced to death for carrying 200 kilograms of drugs, and weapons."
At the time of writing, this execution is not reported in the official Iranian media.

Six men executed in Gorgan Prison on June 6.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, six men were executed in Gorgan Prison on the morning of 6 June. Three of them have been identified as Younes Jahantigh, Ali Keykhah and Ali Lakzayi. The identities of the other three men have not been established at the time of writing.
The six men were arrested for the same rape case around three years ago and sentenced to death by the Criminal Court. A source told Iran Human Rights: “Ali Keykhah was only 18 at the time of arrest and had not taken part in any rape. His crime was to take food for the others.”
At the time of writing, their executions have not been reported by domestic media in Iran.

12 inmates were executed in Zahedan Prison on June 6, 2022.
Haal Vsh News reported that on Monday, June 6, ten inmates convicted of drug-related crimes were executed in Zahedan Prison.
Identities of drug-related executions:
Ebrahim Ghaljayi, 25 years old and from Zahedan, was arrested in 2019.
Jalil Gargij from Zahedan, was arrested in 2019 with co-defendant, Ebrahim Gargij.
Dastgir Gargij from the village of Jarikeh in Zahak was arrested in 2019.
Ebrahim Rakhshani, 32 years old and married living, arrested in 2019.
Mohammad Nabi-Kabdani known as "Ebrahim Gargij" was a Sunni cleric who was married and living in Zahedan.
Nasir Mohammadani, 50 years old and from the village of Giaban in Zahedan, was arrested in 2013.
Identities of qisas executions:
Mehdi Nasiri, 36 years old and from Zabol, was arrested in 2018.
Hamidollah Paliz from Zahedan.
Mohammad Ali Kahrazehi from Khash was arrested with his brother and co-defendant Mohammad Omar Kahrazehi in 2019.
Mohammad Omar Kahrazehi from Khash was arrested with his brother and co-defendant Mohammad Ali Kahrazehi in 2019.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, two men were executed in Rasht Central Prison on June 2. Their identities have been established as Behnam Khanjani and Farhad Ramezanian, both sentenced for murder.
Farhad Ramezanian was sentenced for the murder of his wife and had spent around seven years behind bars. He was transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for his execution on May 17.

Ebrahim Karimi executed in Rasht on June 2. The news was reported by IHR on June 9.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was executed in Rasht Central Prison on 2 June. His identity has been established as Ebrahim Karimi, sentenced for the murder of his son-in-law with his daughter, Maryam Karimi. Sources previously told IHR: “This father and daughter don’t have anyone, they had killed her husband who was abusive, physically violent and wouldn’t consent to a divorce. The father who had no other way of saving his daughter, helped her in killing him.” Maryam’s daughter was six years old at the time and was raised by her paternal grandparents, who for 13 years told the child that both her parents were dead. A few weeks prior to Maryam and Ebrahim’s scheduled executions, the grandparents told Maryam’s daughter what happened to prepare her psychologically. The father and daughter were transferred for execution after saying goodbye to each other in February 2021 but their execution was delayed by judicial officials and they were returned to their cells. In the early hours of 13 March 2021, Maryam was hanged in Rasht Central Prison. Her daughter personally carried out her execution. Ebrahim was spared execution for unknown reasons but was brought in to see his daughter’s lifeless body hanging on the noose. Over 14 months later, he has also now been executed. At the time of writing, the execution is not been reported by domestic media in Iran.

Unnamed man executed by own his own son on June 1.
The news was reported on June 7 by IHR.
According to Rokna, an unnamed man was hanged by his own son in Raja Shahr Prison at an unspecified date. Iran Human Rights has established the date of the execution to have been on 1 June 2022, when several people were executed in Rajai Shahr Prison. Iran Human Rights is continuing its investigations to confirm the executions at the prison that day.
The unnamed man is reported to have been sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for stabbing his wife to death on 20 March 2019.
Once a defendant has been convicted of qisas in Iran, the victim’s family are required to choose between death as retribution, diya (blood money) or forgiveness. Furthermore, the victim’s family are not only encouraged to attend the executions, but to personally carry them out.
In this case, the next of kin were his own son and his wife’s parents who chose retribution. The man’s son is reported to have pulled the stool from under his father’s feet. This is not the first case of a qisas convict being executed by their own child. In 2021, the executions of two women, Maryam Karimi and Zahra Esmaili were personally carried out by their own children as next of kin to their fathers.

His identity has been established as Ayoub Latifi, sentenced for murder. There are unconfirmed reports that Ayoub Latifi was executed along with four other prisoners that day. According to HRANA news agency, a man was executed in Sari Prison on May 31. His identity has been reported as Mehdi Amiri-Margavi who was in his 20s and sentenced to qisas for murder.
He was arrested for murder charges in March 2020 and had been held in Sari Prison throughout his detention. Despite more than a month passing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media in Iran.

According to the Baluch Activists Campaign, a Baluch man was executed Damghan Prison in Semnan province on May 31. His identity has been reported as Allah Nazar Esmailzehi (Esmail-Zehi), age 33, from Zahedan who was sentenced to death for drug-related charges. He was not in possession of any drugs when arrested by Semnan traffic police in January 2019. A source said: “The drugs that were registered to have belonged to Allah Nazar were discovered in an empty car the day after his arrest and had nothing to do with him. He was tortured by prison officials to make him accept the charges and force him into claiming the drugs belonged to him.”

According to Rokna, a man was executed in Karaj Penitentiary on May 29. The unnamed 22-year-old man was sentenced for murder. The man is reported to have arranged to meet his fiancé in a park in Karaj on the day of the murder in September 2019. His path was suddenly blocked by a group of young men who attacked him on the pretext that he was harassing a girl (his fiancé). To defend himself, he pulled out a knife, stabbing and killing one of the attackers and fled the scene.

Mehdi Sarhadi executed in Isfahan on May 29
According to “Baluch Activists Campaign”, a Baluch man was executed Isfahan Central Prison on May 29. His identity has been reported as 36-year-old Mehdi Sarhadi.
He was arrested in Isfahan around four years ago and sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court on drug-related charges.
A source said: “Prison officials told Mehdi that he would be pardoned if he learnt a joz from the Quran off by heart. He was memorising his second joz when his sentence was carried out.”
The Quran is divided into 30 jozs, each of which are around 20 pages. According to the source, the Baluch man had been transferred to the gallows several times prior to his execution.

Eight men executed in Rajai Shahr Prison on May 25.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, eight men were executed in Rajai Shahr Prison on the morning of May 25. Six of the men have been identified as Ramin Arab, Abbas Bitarafan, Gholamhossein Zeinali, Ali Nosrati, Vahid Mianabadi and Ali Montazeri.
Ramin Arab was sentenced to death on charges of moharebeh (enmity against God) through armed robbery and the other seven men were sentenced to qisas for murder.
A source told Iran Human Rights: “Karim Bagheri the football player was at the prison and was trying to gain forgiveness for Abbas Bitarafan from the victim’s family but they refused. Karim Bagheri also tried to speak to the other families and eventually two of the men were returned to their cells.”
“Ramin Arab had severely self-harmed prior to execution and was transferred to the hospital. They took him to the gallows from the hospital,” the source added.
Yesterday, Tehran Prosecutor Ali Salehi announced that a prisoner with the initials R.A had been executed. Though the location was not specified, he seemed to have been referring to Ramin Arab.

Quoting Ali Salehi, the Tehran Prosecutor, ILNA has reported the execution of an unnamed man on May 25. The location of the execution was not specified in the report. “The armed robber with the initials of R.A. had formed a racketeering and armed robbery gang with two other accomplices. Using weapons, they created fear in East Tehran, the Javadieh and Tehran Pars areas in particular, where they targeted people wearing gold,” the Prosecutor is quoted as saying. Due to their vague definitions, the charges of moharebeh (enmity against god), efsad-fil-arz (corruption on earth) and baghy (armed rebellion) are used for a wide range of offences. Iran Human Rights has been able to confirm the execution of four men in Gorgan Prison on 24 May 2022 through newly obtained information. Three of the men who were sentenced to death for drug-related charges have been identified as Mostafa Hamidzadeh, Houshang Bagheri and Alimorad (surname unknown). The fourth man who was sentenced for murder has been identified has 25-year-old Nasser Moghadam. A source told Iran Human Rights: “Nasser Moghaddam was behind bars for around four years. The victim’s family was willing to forgive but his brother wanted the sentence to be carried out. According to the Baluch Activists Campaign, a Baluch man was executed in Minab Prison on May 23. His identity has been reported as Mossadegh Malahi from Bandar Kalahi in Minab.
Malahi was arrested for drug-related offences around four years ago and sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court. He was deprived of the right to say goodbye to his family as his execution was carried out without his family being notified. At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media in Iran.

Speaking to Iran Human Rights about Abdolbari Rigi’s case, a source said: “Abdolbari was supposed to have his last visit with his family on Saturday but they executed him without notifying his family. According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, Fardin Kaleh Houyi from "Dorudfaraman" district in the central district of Kermanshah, has been arrested in 2018 for the murder of three members of a family and sentenced to death. The news of Fardin Kaleh Houyi's execution has not yet been announced by the state media, and Hengaw is the first source to publish it after a month.

Farshad Nematzadeh, Mehdi Shirchian and Eshaghi were executed in Amol Prison.
According to HRANA news agency, three men were executed in Amol Prison on the morning of May 18. Their identities have been reported as Farshad Nematzadeh, Mehdi Shirchian and a man only identified as Mr Eshaghi. They were all sentenced to death for drug-related offences by the Revolutionary Court.
The three men were transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for their executions on May 14. At the time of writing, these executions have not been reported by domestic media in Iran.

Ghobad Khodakarami (Qobad Khoakarami) executed in Khorramabad on May 17
According to HRANA news agency, a man was executed in Khorramabad Central Prison on the morning of May 7. His identity has been reported as Ghobad Khodakarami, 54, who was sentenced to qisas for murder. An informed source told Iran Human Rights: “Ghobad Khodakarami was a retired teacher who was arrested three years ago for murder by the Khorramabad police and sentenced to qisas.” At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media in Iran.

Ghobad Narouyi executed in Birjand on May 17
According to the Baluch Activists Campaign, a Baluch man was executed in Birjand Central Prison on the morning of May 17. His identity has been reported as Ghobad Narouyi from the village of Nasr Ababd in Zabol. He was sentenced to death for drug-related charges by the Revolutionary Court. Ghobad Narouyi had been behind bars for around three years after being arrested in Birjand. At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media.

Khalil Rezaeipour executed in Qom on May 17.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was executed in Qom Central Prison on the morning of May 17. His identity has been established as 30-year-old Khalil Rezaeipour who was sentenced to death for drug-related offences by the Revolutionary Court.
An informed source told Iran Human Rights: “Khalil Rezaeipour had been behind bars for carrying drugs for around four years. He spent his first two years in Qezelhesar Prison before being transferred to Qom Prison.”
At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media in Iran.

Mehrab Salehi executed in Yazd on May 15.
Probably a juvenile at the time of the crime
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a young man was executed in Yazd Central Prison on the morning of May 15. His identity has been established as 20-year-old Mehrab Salehi who was sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder.
His relatives have told Iran Human Rights that Mehrab was born in February/March 2003 (Esfand) and arrested in December 2019/January 2020 (Dey), making him 16 years old at the time of the alleged offence. Iran Human Rights is working to verify the information through documentation.
Mehrab Salehi was previously taken to the gallows twice and had been able to obtain extensions each time. The victim’s family had demanded 1.5 billion tomans (€35.000) as diya (blood money) instead of retribution, a sum Mehrab’s family were unable to afford.
At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media in Iran.

Mohammad Bameri executed in Iranshahr Prison on May 14.
The Baluch man was unable to pay the €23.000 diya (blood money).
According to the Baluch Activists Campaign, a Baluch man was executed in Iranshahr Prison on the morning of May 14. His identity was reported as Mohammad Bameri from Bakhsh Daman in Iranshahr province. He was sentenced to qisas for murder. The victim’s family had demanded 1 billion tomans (€23.000) as diya (bloody money) instead of retribution but Mohammad Bameri’s family were unable to come up with that amount. At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by media in Iran.

Farshad Gamshadzehi, Esmail Jahantigh and Mansour Barahouyi, three Baluch men sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder, were executed in Zahedan Central Prison. There is a possibility that Farshad Gamshadzehi may have been a juvenile offender.
According to the Baluch Activists Campaign, three Baluch men were executed in Zahedan Central Prison on the morning of May 14. Their identities have been established as Farshad Gamshadzehi, Esmail Jahantigh and Mansour Barahouyi, who were all sentenced to qisas for murder.
There is a possibility that Farshad Gamshadzehi may have been under 18 years of age at the time of the alleged offence. Iran Human Rights is continuing its investigation to establish whether he was a juvenile offender.
At the time of writing, these executions have not been reported by domestic media in Iran.
Although there are no official figures for the population of Baluch minorities in Iran, different sources estimate the number to be between 1.5 and 4.8 million, accounting for 2 to 6% of Iran’s total population. Research and monitoring by Iran Human Rights show that in 2021, at least 70 Baluch prisoners were executed, accounting for 21% of all executions in Iran.

Hossein Fartash executed in Isfahan on May 12.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was executed in Isfahan Central Prison on the morning of May 12. His identity has been established as Hossein Fartash who was sentenced for murder. A source told Iran Human Rights: “Hossein Fartash was arrested for an honour killing around four years ago.” At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media.

Mostafa Kh. executed in Mashhad on May 11.
According to Rokna, a man was executed in Mashhad Central Prison on the morning of May 11. Sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder, he has only been named as 33-year-old Mostafa Kh.
The executed man is alleged to have killed the husband of a woman from his village with her collaboration. The woman was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.

Unnamed man executed in Sabzevar Prison on May 10.
According to the local Asre Sabzevar website, a man was executed in Sabzevar Prison on May 10. The unnamed man was arrested for murder charges on 22 September 2018 and subsequently sentenced to qisas. Speaking about the details of the case, Sabzevar Prosecutor, Jafar Tayar Saberi said: “The scene was staged to look like the victim had been killed by the thieves in the course of an armed robbery. But investigations and the use of police tactics showed a different story. A young man had an illegitimate affair with the victim’s husband, the landlord, and decided to kill him.” There are two other co-defendants in the case who have been sentenced to 13 years and 25 years imprisonment.

Four men executed in Shiraz on May 8.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, four men were executed in Shiraz Central Prison (Adelabad) on the morning of May 8. Their identities have been established as Abbas Pajmordeh and his nephew Ali Pajmordeh who was transferred from the youth ward, Mohammad Gholamhosseini and Ali Hossein Pahan. Speaking to Iran Human Rights, a source said: “Abbas Pajmordeh was Ali Pajmordeh’s uncle. They were sentenced to death on charges of carrying drugs and firearms five years ago. The other two prisoners were also co-defendants and had spent four years behind bars before being executed for carrying methamphetamine and heroine.” At the time of writing, none of their executions have been reported by media in Iran.
